I’ve never hunted though I’ve lived in Colorado my whole life (35). When I watch videos like this I want to get out and try. Thank you for sharing and God bless
I would encourage you to give it a try, especially if you have a friend or friends that hunt and you could give it a test run with them! I didnt' grow up hunting and didn't start until a friend took me when I was 25. I had a blast and it's become one of my passions. It's not usually easy, but it's so very rewarding when you achieve success not to mention it's nice to know where your meat comes from! We have really enoted learning how to process it all ourselves as well!
try it you will love the time in the woods and find some friends that hunt to go with you , I enjoyed hunting mostly just being is nature gives you a whole new perspective on your lie , you have time to think and know your self , strengths and weakeses, and remember we never walk alone god is always with us .
Great job Robby! Enjoyed watching this and getting a sneak peak behind the scenes of the hunt. So cool to see how God provided for you and for your family
I did some high country hiking this summer, Continental Divide, above timberline. It’s tough even if you’re in decent shape, no doubt even more taxing with a gun and pack. Good story here, great scenery, thanks for sharing.
It's definitely something you have to prepare for and get in shape...and it hurts no matter what when you are successful and pack an elk out!! Thanks for watchin!
Thanks for sharing your story & your faith; I love it! I live in Falcon, CO (east of Colorado Springs) and am thinking of starting a men's bible study group for hunters and find people of liked minded to hunt with; similar to your group :) Again, thanks for sharing.
Love that area, and I'll be hunting this side of it for Deer and Elk this Fall. Hopefully the good Lord blesses me as much as he did for you guys. Side note-I live 60 seconds from where you're at in 2:22! Did your friend get the other bull? Are you building points for that unit again?
Awesome, best of luck on your hunts! No, another hunter shot at a small bull and scared the big bull out of the drainage! My friend never saw the big bull again. I am building points, but not sure I would ever catch up to point creep to hunt that hunit again! Shoot me an email and let me know how your hunts go! fisher4ever21@gmail.com
Congrats a an awesome bull! Big 5s are sweet!! Would love to talk to you about the hunt a bit! I have the same hunt this year if you were on the unit Im thinking you were on! Would love to chat!
I want to start filming my own hunts only problem is reading fish and game that I can understand is only people who have tags or are a licensed guide can join me unless that is not the rule and you are allowed to have someone film?
@@GAJ6Where in heck did you get that idea? Only the person that has a tag may pack a rifle. Twenty people can film or hike with him. Although that would be silly.
@@GAJ6 that is not correct...as long as nobody else is hunting/carrying a weapon, you can have as many people come along and/or film as you would like. Good luck!
@GAJ6 the only place you can not film is a wilderness. If you are a commercial filmer like Randy Newberg and other professional hunters, you need a film permit
That was a great hunt, Robbie. To answer the question of filming a hunt. If you are a professional hunter or make money hunting, or on movies, etc., you have to have a film permit. The place that is forbidden to film is in a wilderness area. As regular hunters and not paid, you can film a hunt but not in the designated wilderness areas.
Oh God I cringe every time these TH-cam hunters just drink stream water. Please don’t do this, please purify the water first, bacteria and parasites are a real thing that will make you so sick!

Great story. Great bull!! Did your friend harvest the other bull as well?
No, another hunter came in below my buddy and shot a rag horn and scared the big bull. He never saw him again!
Is this unt seventy six?
What muzzle brake is on your rifle?
It came stock on my Christensen Arms Traverse.
Had questions about filming the hunt since only one person had a tag how does that work?
I don’t fully understand the question, can you clarify?
