Argentina and Brazil have produced the greatest players of all time and their love for the sport is unrivaled by far the biggest international rivalry. Not to mention they're both top dogs in the international stage always. Mexico and USA don't even come close.
No, it's different than that. It's not about the quality of the game play between Mexico and the USA that makes it a great rivalry. Because obviously the quality is lacking in all of CONCACAF. It's because there are serious political undertones every time the game is played. It is a game that divides families. It's similar to when India and England play cricket in England. There are lots of Indian fans that come to the match that live and work in England. When the United States plays Mexico in the United States, it is still an away game for the United States.
The United States has also conducted multiple military engagements against the Mexican government and there were threats of as recently as three months ago that the US was considering carrying out drone strikes in northern Mexico. Add to that, nearly every time Mexico and the US play against each other, unlike in Europe or Asia, there is a cup trophy on the line. So I would put Brazil and Argentina first, but the US and Mexico 2nd as far as the most heated rivalries in international football once you take into account the history of the two countries, the violence on the field during the games between players, the ongoing political implications, and the trophies that are on the line every time the two sides play.
You could argue things like England v Ireland, England v Scotland, Japan v China, Japan v Korea, Bolivia v Chile but those matches never have the same level of stakes and are usually very lopsided

The crazy thing is, greatest of all time in single players are Argentinians and Brazilians mainly and some European exceptions. But in terms of medium player, the Europeans are far better.

As an European from Germany who follows the show due to American sports. Miami didn’t sign Messi, Apple and Adidas did. Miami is just the place where he owns a home. This club has little appeal outside of violating league on transfers and compensation to players. At least the LA Galaxy had to foot the bill for Beckham, Miami is getting a boost from outside(supposedly league wide) sponsors. Yay!
Not entirely, future partial franchise ownership was part of Beckham's deal. So it was not entirely an LA Galaxy signing as much as it was an MLS signing just as with Messi

Germany has no real rivals, except maybe with the Netherlands but that's a much bigger country beating up on a smaller country. There's no rivalry with the US and Japan. The US just happened to play against the Japanese women for two different world cup finals. That's not a rivalry, that's just two good teams facing each other. The US has a rivalry in baseball with Japan, but it isn't a hatred of the other side. Again it's just the two best countries at a sport playing against each other. The biggest rival of the US is Mexico without a doubt. It doesn't matter what level the game is being played at; it is a point of national pride from U-15 and up.

The league and networks like ESPN and Fox might be kicking themselves by being tied to Apple for broadcast coverage of games. Unless they subscribe to Apple TV deal, casual fans not gonna see Inter Miami games. Fox not going to be able to broadcast all their games nationally. They should, but can’t. Another reason why I didn’t think signing the deal with Apple was a good idea. I know the league was never going to turn down that money, but to help grow more casual fans, forcing they pay ANOTHER subscription service to watch content, it’s going to prove difficult grow MLS in America TV market.
