Those white handles on the outside of the shipping box are designed to lock the top section to the bottom. If you release a tab they will hinge out and you can remove them. If you look closely you will see that the walls of the bottom section do not go all the way to the top of the top section. If the top had been removed correctly by removing the white handles and lifting it off (no cutting involved except for the strap) the amp could have been removed without having to lift it nearly as high as you had to. It also makes it easier to repack the amp once you’re done with it.

Just a tip next time you unbox this amp. The 4 plastic handles on the outer box are removable. Once you remove them you can slide open the box. With the top of the carton box removed you do not have to lift the amp as high off the bottom of the box. Panasonic Plasma Displays were also packaged this way... Japanese ingenuity :-)
Just got the accuphase E 650 inter grated class A which I run with Sonus Faber Olympica Nova 3’s so very Interested in your upcoming review of this combination guys
I recently picked up an E-480. Holy sh!t. I don't feel like I'm really missing out on much with separates. Sure, you can squeeze out that last bit of performance with some much more premium separates, but I can't justify the cost for that tiny bit of gain. This integrated could be end-game for many people. I'm sure this carries over to the E-380 as well.
@@richardpeters2193 Yes, that would be a "grey market" unit. The problem is that you won't be able to get support from Accuphase or any factory authorized repair shop unless you send it back to Canada. Accuphase is very strict about this to protect their distributors. My local repair shop happens to be one and Japan HQ wouldn't even let them do a simple voltage rewiring for a customer who actually moved from Japan and brought his gear with him. That said, Accuphase gear has a reputation for being very robust so it's probably not too risky.
Vilip: I worry about you lifting the amp by yourself... I always lift with my knees bent and thighs level with the floor, head up and the object very close to me... Lift with your legs, not your back.. Be careful.... save your back !!!
Do you have to cut the box open like that ? Should be able to pull up straight by removing white handle first. Having own both Mcintosh and Accuphase, I can tell Accuphase will not be degraded by time like Mcintosh, I mean cosmetically.
Accuphase, while it’s nice stuff, the distributor’s pricing is outrageous. Pass Labs XA.8 series of Class A amplifiers are a better proposition all the way around.

You guys always seem to post on stuff I'm interested in. I got my first Accuphase a few weeks ago, an E-650 integrated amp, and am enjoying it a lot.
