    Chuckie this is why we fight so hard for soca and calypso only on the road. once you take the culture and tradition away they’ll change the whole thing. The elders who built NHC don’t want to hear Talibans. We’re fighting to save NHC right now and we’re fighting against our own people. What poet described is why those big popular songs shouldn’t be played on the road it’s dangerous.

    This why I say to anyone, if you can afford it pay for Private Healthcare. With how NHS is so stretched you could end up dead waiting for a bed/treatment

    • @RAY300064
      @RAY300064 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I get that. Living in the US, the NHS looks like a godsend of a healthcare system. But every good thing has its downsides. Hospitals in America can literally choose if they accept your insurance or not.

      @LolSmilez4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The problem with private healthcare is that they’re not equipped for emergencies. So they’re transferring you to standard NHS anyways and it takes even longer to do so. Also, if you have an issue that needs different teams of doctors like cardiology, neurology you can’t get them under one roof like that in private

    • @noelsonkwa
      @noelsonkwa ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahhahaha, not true at all. It’s based on need, just like Canada.
      Come to the US, you WILL be dead waiting for treatment even if you go private because you have to pay before the service is provided.
      Plus I’ve heard doctors in the UK don’t deny emergency room service. It’s like a dream land.. I’m jealous!

      In Australia we have a hybrid, but essentially, if you are sick, the government will help you as much as they can.
      There are waitlists for the public sector, but if something becomes critical you'll be bumped up the list and seen.
      If it's not as critical, private health is good because you will be seen faster and get a choice of doctor, hospital, etc.

      Private heath care requires a lot of the nhs resources 💀, it can only help you to a certain point like scans & such… but everything else relies on the nhs mate.

    Poet is right, if we can afford to pay the CEOs of hospitals 6 figures then what is really going on. The upper management in the Lucy Letby case went onto three different 6 figure NHS jobs before eventually retiring with £1mill in his pension. There’s money but a lot of it is hidden in upper management

    I understand exactly what you mean. Now that another black genre of music is on the rise, previous Black genres are getting swept up in it and being forgotten, especially at an event made for specific celebration. Carnival should only play Caribbean music.

    Giving birth under this NHS is nothing but traumatic. They are handing out emergency c-sections as standard. As if we haven't got enough to go through during pregnancy and becoming a parent, you now have PTSD, PND and PNA to manage on top. Complaints have been issued, but nothing sticks... it's inhumane.

    You have people who are from countries that don't traditionally celebrate carnival demand that they should have a truck on the main strip to play non soca music. That's just crazy to me. It would be soo interesting to see how these same folk would react if a truck of white people pulls up and start to play heavy rock, metal or country music etc. If this was the case, I doubt they will be so welcoming of "ALL" music being accepted on the strip. Respect the tradition.

    • @Mychannel-so8kf
      @Mychannel-so8kf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely right! One thing, Caribbean people are exceptionally influential because non Caribbean people stay trying to fight us for our carnival, when it is very simple to just go and start your own event and play what you want. I couldn’t imagine arguing for a week over Afro Nation or Wiz Kid concert. 1. I don’t care enough to do so 2. It’s very rude and I have manners

    NHS is not free (Taxes) cover that service. And it's not a good service. If one has private health insurance it's better for you. I'm born and raised in UK and have private healthcare for the purpose of fast track and property. NHS will have you waiting 16weeks for a standard scan. Then another 6- 12months for surgery. And A&E only cover general. And are restricted on how much investigations they can do per day due to funding and capacity of staff. They'll send you home to see your GP to get a routine USS referral after you've been seen and had a general check up. Private is better you pay and get consulted and have necessary tests.

  • @BlackNuke145
    @BlackNuke145 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd be happy for carnival to move now, too many people congested into too small a space. People are going to die from a crush one of these years! Too many people not from the culture who just go there to drink, smoke, listen to other genres of music, who downright hate soca/calpso, or there for war!

  • @allyspagally
    @allyspagally ปีที่แล้ว

    The reason margs left the ward with an open wound, is that he is safer at home because you’re at risk of getting infection at hospital, if you dont need round the clock monitoring you don’t e need to be in hospital, you need to be at home recovering with community care.
    Operations and scans etc get cancelled because there arent enough personnell to run the thing.
    Rich people are getting richer and they dont get taxed in relation to their earnings. THATS HOW YOU FUND NHS WITH A WEALTH TAX on big flippin business and rich arse individuals.

    The "traditional" Mas trucks were still there doing their sandwich mixes. But we all understand it's a melting pot of cultures. Youth culture, Dancehall culture, Af culture, deserve their place.

    • @MarianneSunshine
      @MarianneSunshine ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why? It’s about celebrating Caribbean history and tradition for 2 days, they have their place all year round.

    • @Itsthecreative
      @Itsthecreative ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarianneSunshine and Caribbean culture has influenced those cultures and vice versa. So if they're all intertwined, why cant they all have their place. No one's saying it should be front and centre and dominate the whole event, but it has a place on the trucks/floats, not just sound-system stages.
