I have stock ultrasonics but am considering custom hyperlites. Would love to hear your thoughts although from your videos it seems like a good change. I prefer 590 gloves for one. I can catch okay with the ultrasonic, but it's more of a passive type of catch (think lundqvist) rather than an active baseball catch. My favorite glove has been the Reebok XLT for example. I love a stiff pad, but my flexibility isn't what it used to be, and therefore the board-like shape of the ultrasonics doesn't seal the five hole perfectly. I was looking at the thigh stiffness between hyperlite and ultrasonic, as this is an option in the customizer, as the hyperlite flex may be a little too flexible. Im a little apprehensive about using the thinner hyperlite blocker, does this affect rebounds significantly? Lastly, I really like the knee block on the ultrasonic and would likely stick with that option. It sounds like from your pad video, that may be the way to go
Hyperlite is very close to 590, there should be no reason to be worried about the blocker, and keeping the US knee block on a custom order is a pretty safe option
The only thing I did not like about my 2X set was the glove. Although it’s marketed as a 60-degree (590) closure, it felt closer to a 580 closure. I’m curious if the close on the Hyperlite is the same.
Check out the video? I explained how the glove closure had changed. The “580 feel” in 2X is because it’s a double break. You can break it on break 60 or overlap more like 90. HL has more of a fixed break.

@@thegoalnet5915 oh yea, I watched the video and glad to know the HL is more fixed. I love the Bauer pads and blockers.
I got a 3s blocker, board is live. Strongly considering a full bauer set but I want a bigger thigh rise.
Supreme plays tall, I get a Supreme pad if you’re worried about height. Customize it flexible if you’re worried on the Stiffness
