Meruem's development is absolutely fantastically done. The hero dies in a fiery explosion, full of hate and willing to give everything away, finally reaching his end goal of life, yet feeling empty. The 'villain' dies peacefully next to Komugi. Gon's dive into despair compared to Killua's rise from it since the very beginning is a perfect display of nature vs nuture. But NEVER let this distract you from the fact that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum
I don’t think netero felt empty before death. If he hadn’t done what he did no one would have stopped mereum. Not to mention, it was probably the most challenging and exciting battle of his life. This was the moment Hunter x Hunter changed forever. GOD I still remember watching this with my brother when this started playing for the first time. We were speechless. This was the moment Hunter x Hunter changed forever. GOD I still remember watching this with my brother when this started playing for the first time. We were speechless. The Chimera Ant arc made us feel like an entirely different show was playing. Almost unrecognizable in fact. It's the most transformative thing I've ever seen for any piece of fiction save for maybe Berserk.
This was the moment HxH became a beautiful work of art.

I wish the series continued. I want to know what's beyond the current world. Chimera ants are just the surface of alien creatures. What is there to be found that surpasses human expectation?
