Second, planets that do not have an atmosphere tend to have high temperatures during the day but low temperatures during the night, depending on their location from their host star (Mercury, as an example).

Ive been watching many documentaries before about rovers, probes, etc. sent to Mars. They've been collecting a lot of data, high resolution pictures, samples and even found out thin oxygen and frozen water on poles/underground water...ano po ang bagong discovery ngayon? May nakita ako documentary(forgot the title) na may kakayahan na ang NASA mgpadala ng tao pero pinipigilan, naintidihan ko naman its for human safety first, akalain it will take nearly 7 months just to get there...Curious lng ako ano ang bago ngayon...huwag naman ibash, this is for the purpose of gaining knowledge...
Its purpose po is to get rock samples na pede dalhin back to earth po talaga unlike the previous rovers na walang technology for this. Rock samples are placed on tubes that can survive on extreme temperatures and are left off on the martian surface to be extracted and transported back to earth by future missions. Saw it from mark rober's video po he's an engineer that took part on curiousity and gave a glimpse of the engineering process of both the rovers.

Mars does have an atmosphere, but it is about 100 times thinner than Earth's atmosphere and it has very little oxygen. The atmosphere on Mars is made up of mainly carbon dioxide. An astronaut on Mars would not be able to breathe the Martian air and would need a spacesuit with oxygen to work outdoors.
