I actually like the idea of basing the entire story off of a lost tooth. It shows that when it comes to fossils EVERYTHING, no matter how small, has a story behind it. Even if the story is that a gorgosaurus grew up and then shed a tooth naturally. Or if the story is that it and a pachyrhinosaurus both grew, and one day it lost a tooth in a fight. It all has a story and a full life behind it. That tooth the kid found was there for a reason. A complex, long, and beautiful reason. Unfortunately this movie failed entirely to capture that beauty.

I got a movie suggestion, it’s actually pretty good! It used to be pretty big but it’s been recently forgotten. It’s called The Valley of Gwangi, it’s a film animated by Ray Haryhausen about a group of Cowboys that travel to a strange valley and they are attacked by a large carnivorous Dinosaur (either an Allosaurus or Tyrannosaurus, the director and Haryhausen were unsure of what he was) which is nicknamed Gwangi by the area’s inhabitants who were aware of the Valley. The film is surprisingly enjoyable, and the animation is very impressive for 1969. Check it out.

I don't get why this happened. It was up for so long and NOW they claimed it? WTF? Also the reupload is exactly the same and only the thumbnail is different, which means there was nothing wrong with the video itself, so again, why did TH-cam do this?
I watched this movie when I was little and was super angry because we got scammed. The trailers didn't show the dino dialogue, they just had narration. I thought I was gonna watch a realistic dinosaur movie in the theaters, but I was met with the sound of yelling humans and personified dinosaurs. It had really good visuals but that was it. I was so angry. I honestly wouldn't have minded as much if they made the dinosaurs actually talk. Just lean into the talking animals if you're gonna do it. But they spoke TELEPATHICALLY. No lip movement, just noise. It was the most frustrating thing to watch. They clearly dubbed over the whole movie last second to market it toward kids.
I feel bad for the creators. It was so close to perfection until it was ruined. Kinda poetic in a way, a person so close to greatness only for it to be stripped away by another's arrogance
Personally, I refer to the troodon in this as latenivenatrix due to the fact that troodon is officially dubious and is now split into two different genera with the second genus being called stenonychosaurus. And for those that don't know, latenivenatrix is also the larger of the two being around the height of the average human while stenonychosaurus is much smaller at about as tall as a medium sized dog such as a retriever.

When I saw this in theatres, I expected a theatrical, up to date version of the original Walking with Dinosaurs. I went into it blind and avoided trailers so I had no idea that they talked. I came out of there thoroughly disappointed and as a paleontologist, I was disgusted. I hope someday we get an actual, new Walking with Dinosaurs documentary.
Lucky I have the dvd so it has the original version without voices as a bonus. Also, in terms of dinosaur introductions, the Dutch version has Freek Vonk to be the voice. He is the most famous biologist in the Netherlands so he is actually a good casting choice

As soon as animals talk, the temptation is to make them behave and think like humans, emulating the culture, social structure, and sometimes even economic system of real life human societies. The original Walking with Dinosaurs was probably the most successful fictional nature documentary of all time. This one might be the most successful furry fanfiction of Walking with Dinosaurs ever created, but it's not a nature documentary anymore. If you made all the characters upright bipeds and put them in an urban environment, the narrative wouldn't change.
