We've been using The Good and the Beautiful for math and it's also open and go, but we are running into both of my kids getting overwhelmed with the whole page of problems to practice. I'm curious about their math for younger grades. I'll check it out!
Funny enough, I was gifted a ton of TGTB for my two younger girls so we're going to try them out for next year, but I'll still do Apologia math for my oldest!!!
Wow! I have not looked too deeply into Apologia! This looks awesome. I like the fun elements. My daughter is doing ABEKA 1 and also does not like the amount of problems. Do you feel like the teacher guide helps you teach? That's my issue with ABEKA. I feel like it doesn't give a lot of help.
The teachers guide has more general tips for teaching than specific instructions, but the workbooks are open and go and provide the instruction and explanation for the lessons right at the beginning of the book! Their online resource library has a lot teaching resources for each chapter though!
They can do the lessons independently! There were a few lessons where there was a game as the opening activity that could either be done with the parent or another sibling, but for the most part it is pretty open and go for the student to use on their own!
They currently don't have video “lessons” but the online library resources take you to videos and resources to help you explain concepts. They have those links broken down by chapters!
We did Apologia Math (2nd and 3rd) this year and my boys loved it! We plan to continue with it in the fall.
This is such an awesome flip through, so happy to hear you enjoyed our math curriculum!
Thanks for watching!!
I love your science curriculum.
🔥 Such a great flip through and explanation!!! Thank you🎉
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for showing the activities! Much less intimidating seeing how they actually work and turn out.
You're welcome! Most of them are so simple to set up and complete!

Thank you for this! Looking for a different math program for my daughter. Her current one isn't working
Glad it was helpful! This one has been a game changer for us this year!
Can the child do the lessons all by themselves or is there always a part the parent has to do with them or for them?

Hi, I've been so intrigued by Apologia math! Are you using Apologia with younger children?
This is my first year using it and I only used it for my fourth grader. I wish I had purchased it for my 1st grader too though!
@pillarsandpress Thank you, its great to hear its going so well, and this video was really helpful!
Are there video lessons per chapter or lesson?

So this has video lessons as well?
Here is the link to the video classes they offer. They don't currently have video lessons for elementary grades.
