      @@MadMike1203 They didn't pass my vetting, so I put an appeal, they gave a generic bland templated decision letter not at all hinting the reason for the vetting rejection but I knew why.
      Anyway, a mate that has been working in a Cat A prison for three years absolutely hates his job and tells me that I'm extremely lucky and that I dodged a bullet. It is what it is.

      @@supyo7778 Rigid career progression. He is a hard worker but they won't consider him for promotion.
      Secondly, it's a very challenging job. You are at a risk of being incriminated and jailed for death by negligence on suicide watch duty. It's so remarkable that officers are pulled away when they are required to monitor a number of vulnerable inmates on a timed basis.
      Thirdly, you are effectivley in the prison. The mindset is not one that fits 100% of individuals who work there. Mental health support is not where it should be.
      Fourthly, dangerous aspect, you are at risk of being attacked and potentially killed any day on any shift (even more so for a Cat A prison).
      I could continue but I have to go to sleep now. Oh yeah strange work patterns..etc.

      @@TheScholar1 oh yeah I understand and seeing it from that perspective. I have a job interview for a Detention officer for juveniles. I hope it’s different but I imagine the same work fields. Maybe less threatening. Thanks for the things to keep in mind! Good luck with future job openings!

    Hello, I have just been doing the practice questions for the UK application form, and the maths questions are really hard. Nothing like some other practice questions I did before which were easy counting questions. Do I need to be able to do all this graph stuff?

    Hello I had a question regarding filling out a resume for corrections position, i’ve had about six jobs, but about three of them I’ve only worked A few weeks at, and I’ve had a job where I’ve worked one day at, i left those jobs, my question is even if my past jobs I’ve worked less then a month , should I still include them on my work experience for my resume even though it was for a day? Or month? My current job I have been at for almost a year, what’s your opinion on this?

    • @TheCompleteGuide1
      @TheCompleteGuide1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to include every job on a resume. I would not include the job you spent one day at for certain - it adds nothing and raises lots of questions you would rather not be asked. Lots of jobs in a very short time can be worrying for a hiring manager so I'd have good answers ready about these. If the jobs are by their nature contract or short term you could include them. Employers will scan for gaps and will ask about them so if you can write your resume to minimize these that helps (e.g. overlapping months).
