Ooooh I love this so much for so many reasons!!! First of all the designs are PEAK!!! I love the detail of Antinous decked out in chains and a choker - not only does it make him look DAYUM FINE it also evokes the feeling that he is a chained beast. Something dangerous that needs to be restrained or else you'll get your hand bitten off. SECOND: I know everyone is talking about the "freakiness" of their fight, but i personally interpret their actions another way (excuse me while I overanalyze) I personally don't interpret Antinous's actions as "seductive" to Telemachus. Antinous's actions are intimate and not wholly appropriate for their fight (rubbing blood on Telemachus's mouth, restraining his arms above his head, etc) but i believe these actions to be INTENTIONALLY INAPPROPRIATE. Antinous's intention for these actions are meant to be mocking - extremely condescending. He's saying "look at how easily i dominate you little wolf". He's not interested in Telemachus, he wants to do things that will bring the most shame to him. By being somewhat flirtatious as he fights, he's flaunting his strength and sensuality and shows Telemachus that Antinous doesn't consider him worth seriously fighting. He's toying with him while establishing his dominance as a man as one of Penelope's suitors. "look at how easily i dominate you little wolf; Now imagine what i can do to your mother." Personally i would also consider Antinous's actions as somewhat hateful. I like to imagine that while Antinous isn't particularly threatened by Telemachus, he is a representation of everything he stands to loose. I don't know how you imagined your Antinous, but i think that Antinous genuinely WANTS Penelope. He wants the kingdom and power that comes with her, yes, but he also wants HER. Maybe not as his equal, but as someone who can sit on his lap while he lounges upon the throne. (I imagine your Penelope would rather trod him under her heels before doing such a thing because she is a QUEEN) But regardless. Telemachus is an embodiment of Odysseus- a man who can come and steal everything away from him after 20 years of waiting. So yes, he wants to fuck around and demean the Little Wolf into hiding away, while proving to himself that he can conquer Odysseus (and the idea of failure) THIRD: hehehehheheh Athena is pretty. I like how Antinous saw her for a moment and it threw him off guard. I assume he KNEW Odysseus before he left for war and he must have known that Athena was his patron goddess. So when he saw Athena in the crowd, he had a moment of genuine shock- maybe even a little fear. If the goddess was here, did that mean Odysseus had returned? Or if she was here for Telemachus- did that mean the timid pup was more of a wolf than he thought? Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Your animatics are gorgeous. I am going to proceed to watch this 50 more times 🫡

That is a very nice interpretation. Especially the part about Ody. He, a true and rightful king of Itacha, can come at any moment and undo everything suitors worked for plus their necks. He is a threat even if he's not present and presumed dead. That goes to show just how much power and authority he has. Almost mythical. Ody is a person you would hear about growing up, also a buggyman in a way. Not to mention, even if they are almost sure that he is dead there is always a tiny bit of fear of his return, and his son continuing his legacy. That just shows how tenacious he is, I doubt anyone would believe Odys dead even if they saw his body. Also, knowing their king, doesn't it ever cross their mind that the queen had to deal with that all the time. They are seriously underestimating Penelope. She's a trickster too. The whole family is a powerhouse really.
Why is Antinous so hot bere😶. I love how Telemachus looks so pissed off. You know that if he was trained he would have gone berserk and made a bloodbath. Also, he is fighting with tricks and not just brute strength, which is a great tactic. And a reminder of Ody as a warrior of the mind. Athena was nicely surprised I'm sure. Not to mention she looks amazing 😍. Badass warrior tactician. Oh and the rabbits part was a nice touch. They are the prey and Telemachus is a predator, which his looks convey nice. Seriously, his design is amazing, probably one of my top 3 favourites. His eyes, hair and everything about him is 🥰🤌✨.

RANDOM BUT THE EPIC COMMUNITY NEEDS TO FIX A NEW MISUNDERSTANDING and I thought this would be a good place ❤ Antinous is NOT older. Not in any version. There was a misunderstanding between the Roman Antinous statue and the Odyssey Antinous. "There is not a man of us all who is such another as (Odysseus); for I have seen him and remember him, though I was then only a child." - quote from Samuel Butler's translation taken from Project Gutenberg. Antinous saw Ody before he left and was inspired, but was not old enough to go. Telemachus was a baby when he left. So their age difference is 5-10 maybe with Antinous being older. Telemachus is 19-20 around this time ❤

Ik this probably wasn't the intention but the way the lighting is and how some things are almost glowing this honestly looks like a sci-fi/cyberpunk AU and this is taking place in some kind of rave. Like, the chains and jewelry on Antinous look glowing and super cool. Honestly it's just such a cool thing that I wasn't even thinking about the 'freakiness' everyone is talking about XD Just: "Futuristic Odyssey!" going through the brain as I admired the art.

OMG!!!!! I love this so much! I kept having to rewind to appreciate all the little details. I love how Telemachus shows his intelligence in this fight with that feint at a punch to bite Antinous and using his surroundings with the curtain. It really shows how similar he is to Odysseus even though they haven’t gotten to know each other and why Athena would be interested in him for his own merit! Absolutely loved this! Amazing job!
I do like that the palace feels more like a club or a rave. Yes the suitors made the house their own. They are a bunch of violent frat boys that are keeping hostage in their house Penelope and Telemachus
At the time of the odyssey antinous is 18 to 19 meanwhile Telemachus is 20 to 21, who’s the little wolf now (other versions of the myth mainly the Roman ones say he was 24 to 26 so only 4 to 5 year difference either way) Love the animatic btw!
This is inaccurate. There’s a rumor going around that Antinous was younger in a another version or something, but that’s the wrong Antinous 😅. The Odyssey Antinous in the book saw Ody go to war and was inspired, but was too young to go. So Antinous could’ve been youngest 5 probably when Tele was born, or oldest maybe 10-13. So their age gap would be 5-13 years years apart or more. Telemachus being younger as he was born a little before Ody left and Antinous being 5-13 because he was old enough to be inspired by Ody but not go to war ❤

I read something about there being to different antinous' (antinui?) but it mentioned of said antinous being killed by ody with an arrow to the throat, I also did read something about antinous being older by 5 years that’s why I wrote the section in the bottom, thanks for the correction though. Seriously though, people (and goddesses) look AMAZING in your art style!! Anto being restrained/held back by his clothing + accessories (I see you), Tele trying to copy some of his moves but failing, Athena pulling up trying to teach Tele how to fight - this all looks so good!! I love your use of colors too, especially the glowing on Anto's chains/accessories.

Antinous is NOT older. Not in any version. There was a misunderstanding between the Roman Antinous statue and the Odyssey Antinous. "There is not a man of us all who is such another as (Odysseus); for I have seen him and remember him, though I was then only a child." - quote from Samuel Butler's translation taken from Project Gutenberg. Antinous saw Ody before he left and was inspired, but was not old enough to go. Telemachus was a baby when he left. So their age difference is 5-10 maybe with Antinous being older. Telemachus is 19-20 around this time ❤

As for your worry about the "freaky" bits I don't interpret it as that. I think Antious is just trying to intimidate. I believe he genuinely wants penelope. Maybe not see her as a equal but he definitely wants to be king and have her as his bride.

Ik this probably wasn't the intention but the way the lighting is and how some things are almost glowing this honestly looks like a sci-fi/cyberpunk AU and this is taking place in some kind of rave. Like, the chains and jewelry on Antinous look glowing and super cool. Honestly it's just such a cool thing that I wasn't even thinking about the 'freakiness' everyone is talking about XD Just: "Futuristic Odyssey!" going through the brain as I admired the art.

OMG!!!!! I love this so much! I kept having to rewind to appreciate all the little details. I love how Telemachus shows his intelligence in this fight with that feint at a punch to bite Antinous and using his surroundings with the curtain. It really shows how similar he is to Odysseus even though they haven’t gotten to know each other and why Athena would be interested in him for his own merit! Absolutely loved this! Amazing job!
I do like that the palace feels more like a club or a rave. Yes the suitors made the house their own. They are a bunch of violent frat boys that are keeping hostage in their house Penelope and Telemachus

(other versions of the myth mainly the Roman ones say he was 24 to 26 so only 4 to 5 year difference either way)

This is inaccurate. There’s a rumor going around that Antinous was younger in a another version or something, but that’s the wrong Antinous 😅. The Odyssey Antinous in the book saw Ody go to war and was inspired, but was too young to go. So Antinous could’ve been youngest 5 probably when Tele was born, or oldest maybe 10-13. So their age gap would be 5-13 years years apart or more. Telemachus being younger as he was born a little before Ody left and Antinous being 5-13 because he was old enough to be inspired by Ody but not go to war ❤

I read something about there being to different antinous' (antinui?) but it mentioned of said antinous being killed by ody with an arrow to the throat, I also did read something about antinous being older by 5 years that’s why I wrote the section in the bottom, thanks for the correction though.
