Good video. I was always taught to pull that “loose” stage off and put the shim behind that stage. This keeps the impeller in that stage from rubbing on the bowl. I always do it that way and it works. I rebuild these and other pumps every day.
Hey Paul thanks for the posts...i have a Q about the wiring hook up for the 220v 10gpm 2 horse booster pump ...im not sure what goulds is calling hi and low voltage on the tag on the motor. I need to be sure which is 220v. Since 220 means you have line1 and line 2 ..it says line1 and line2 fir low voltage to..very confusing...

loved the video very detailed. My problem is trying to get the rebuild kit. Do you sell them? I have a 1 and a half horse pump.
Doing mine now. Could I have some details on the acid bath?
Do you screw the end cap all the way on to where it’s recessed in the barrel?
I have same question here?
El cambio del sello mecánico, realizar un mantto completo porfavor
Perron video amigo mil gracias me ayudo demasiado saludos desde michoacan Mexico
Where do I get the parts to rebuild mine?
From Gould or Pentair where they will cost more than a new unit.
What’s the benefit to using these over a diaphragm pump or 12v pump?
Looks like a multi-stage vertical pump. A diaphragm pump isn't going to come anywhere near the volume output, especially on a portable air supply.
No joke a pump that tall should be able to slam out like 60gpm on a 3500 120c single phase 3/4hp motor
