    It’s super popular in Mexico

It is not. Perhaps in the northern part and is because of its closeness to the USA.
It has some sort of bad reputation because of drug cartels association.

@@jaimegutier273no man Los Tigres del Norte and Tucanes de Tijuana a popular all over Mexico and they have anti cartel songs like la granja and caballeros de camino. In Mexico norteño music where the main instrument is the accordion is very famous but its considered old school but its gaining a lot of popularity in the younger generations.

You can go all over southern Mexico and you won't find a single store or band that has accordion. It is a northerner thing only, or better said, a Texan/American thing, where German immigrants used to play it.
For the rest of the country, accordion has a reputation of being associated with drug cartels.

My mom used to make me take classes for Accordion when I was like 7 or 8 but after 3 years of playing it I got tired and dropped out. Now I'm beginning to make my own music as an R&B Artist and the best part about it is that I'm letting the Accordion into my beats so people can hear it's amazing sound. Another thing by the way, I haven't heard it anywhere nowadays which means it's going to be foreign af to ppl, and I'm glad to be the First Artist to use it. The Accordion's always a vibe haha.

I’ve been trying to research about when the accordion began to inspire music in Latin America. It’s such a distinct sound in cumbia music out of Colombia and all through Central America to Mexico. It’s a very rooted cultural sound in latin music therefore I can appreciate and enjoy the German accordion sound. Like you said, different version.

VelloreM - The accordion arrived in Latin America in the mid 19th century, not too long after it’s invention. It appears that most Latin American accordion styles are about as old as most European accordion styles.

    • @jaimegutier273

The accordion arrived as musical instrument to the northern part of mexico due to eastern European indirect influence. The mexicans living nearby happened to like the sound and that's how it was introduced.
It is mostly related to cartel style music, thus why isn't popular at all.
The mexican style is a direct copy of the German one with slight differences in tune.

First accordion was made and invented by Cyrill Demian in Vienna in 1829. Buschmann invented the harmonica, not the accordion because the name accordion comes from the fact that the first akkordion could only produce chords! No melodies. 5 buttons on only one side of the accordion and each produced one chord pushing the bellows and ANOTHER chord pulling the bellows. The mundeolin of Buschmann was the beginning of the harmonica.

The accordion is austrian. And noone can say anthing else. If yall google it yall always find the same answer. The inventor of the accordion is an austrian. He got the idea from a similar instrument. Again, invented from an austrian. Its austrian and yall better not steal it from us. The germans already stole us schnitzel, porsche and our national anthem.
