I think SAS is easier than both Java and C. SAS is very structured and less personalized in the sense that SAS is built for analyzing big data. Java and C are very versatile, while SAS is not. There is much less syntax to learn in SAS due to its specialized role. In the graduate program I am in, none of us knew how to use SAS at the beginning of the course, but were quite proficient at the end of one semester.
