DIY Texture Mix using Plaster of Paris | Ocean Waves Textured Art

Hi guys. Another ocean waves texture painting. I received questions in my previous video such as if I use cement or joint compound, if plaster cracks.
For my artworks, I mainly use plaster. It doesn't crack as long as you put the right amount of gesso. You can also use white paint to mix with plaster. I also use cement when I make texture. But I'd prefer the plaster.
I used the following for this artwork:
2 cups Plaster of Paris
2 cups water
1/3 cup gesso
Please let me know if you have any questions.

How long does this paste stay workable? Wondering how long it takes to dry when used in an art piece, as well as whether leftover paste could be saved for future use. Thanks for the recipe!

Beautiful work! Is the modeling easy to broken during delivery? Is it necessary coating on the surface after done? What kind of material is good for coating?

Yes you have to be really careful. For me I don’t coat them as I only store them at home.

You can use a matte varnish spray
