There isn't a piece she wore that she modelled, every piece she made look like something from her wardrobe. You could really envisage those pieces at a party, in the streets. She is amazing She wore the clothes, never a boring clothes horse. Love her
Jerry was and still is absolutely gorgeous a true beauty I love how she works the runway nothing boring about her her walk is so sophisticated and elegant and that hair omg 😘😘😘😘😘
high cheekbones and strong nose gives her a sophisticated diva look. And then that amazing blonde thick hair that cascades like a waterfall. You really feel the clothes when she models them. Nobody can match her when you give her a throw or long coat to show off on the runway.
Yes Jerry's facial structure made her a favourite among fashion photographers and international fashion magazines. Love her with coats too ! She knew how to show off an outfit as you say. She even once stated that a model needs to have a "haughty" attitude on the runway, and look super cool, so every one in the room wants to buy the clothes she's modelling.
They always say that clothes look better on models who look like hangers and models who show little emotion. Jerry and her peers of the 70s/80s & much of the 90s prove that to be false - as evidenced here. Her twirls, hair flips, struts, smiles and poses bring the clothes to life! This is what modeling should be and this is why she’s an icon.
Actually you see more Jerry than the clothes, because what she excludes and her beauty. The very slim models let clothes shine. Very few of them catch the eye. Human hangers, but these are the times.. . At least they are paid very well.Jerry didn't catch the times of being paid very well compared with what is today, eveb considering inflation.
As a young woman I watched “ Style with Elsa Klench “ every single time it played on CNN. CNN was brand new and that show was the first time an average girl from Worcester Massachusetts got to watch a runway show ( vs just looking at pictures). She was one of the few top print models who also was amazing on the runway. The runway, in the 1980’s had their own top tier of models. Pat Cleveland was FANTASTIC but you only saw her on the Catwalk. Pat was definitely a big inspiration to the models of the 1990’s.
Saw her at Watford Palace Theatre in the 90s in the lead role of Some Like It Hot. So much prettier in real life than her photos even! An enduringly beautiful woman with enormous presence. Quite unforgettable.
Jerry Hall is an amazing model who knows how to be work the runway, and make it seem effortless!..She even made that bright red, puffy, "mushroom," 🍄 dress work, sensually wiggling around the, "mushroom," part at the audience!...Amazing!…:-)
Me too. They were meant for each other. Even in their old age they still fight 😂 Mick said she was impossible to live with just a few years ago! 🤣 If he’s still talking shit about her to the media that means he still loves her ❤️❤️
Jerry is so special!, truly beautiful , glamorous and sexy , like no other model! She brings everything she wears to life and more… with her own magic .
Back when your parents couldnt buy you a modelling career! How did we allow the fashion industry lose this magic and be over run with bland, talentless rich kids playing dress up. Its actually sad 😔
i idolized Jerry as a young girl back in the seventies. her bone structure, lips, eyes and hair were and still are simply perfection. her walk and posture was so classy , smooth and elegant. she has an air of aristocracy about her, even though she still retains that Texan accent. Viva la Jerry!
Ms Jerry Hall has always made me happy seeing her. Model of glamour, certainly gets those big Aeroplane 747 s up off the ground in our society always beautiful roses to a beautiful real classy lady always.
@@michaelreilly3513 you are right!! Could you imagine both of them together on the runway!! But I do think Linda probably learned a lot from watching Jerry, they are both mesmerising!!
She doesnt have the best walk. But good lord is she gorgeous to look at. Years ago, I saw her walking on the street one summer day and she was nicely dressed. White socks and sneakers, white Bermuda shorts, a light blue shirt and the hair.... and it looked like the Sun shined only on her.
The earliest show in this video is Yves Saint Laurent Spring 1977 RTW (white off-shoulder sun dress). The most recent is Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective show in 2002 (beginning of the video). Then the other segments are spread across the 1980s and 1990s. However, Miss Hall started walking the runway in Paris around early 1975 for Kenzo, Chloé, Miyake, Dior etc... unfortunately, no footage is available on the internet of these shows because they weren't filmed or weren't distributed to television channels. Only some pictures in black and white can be found on some sites.
I don't think Jerry ever walked for Claude Montana. Back then, there was a Montana clan and a Mugler clan. And usually, if you walked for one, you wouldn't walk for the other. And knowing that Jerry Hall was a big Mugler muse, I don't think she's ever worked with Montana, and I've never seen any pics or videos of it at least. However, Jerry and Claude were spotted partying at Le Palace in Paris in the early 1980s.

Thank you for your lovely comment ! Yes Jerry is Timeless! So much attitude and class in that walk :)
Saw her in 77 in Frankfurt. Stunning. She's much more beautiful in person.
Not only is she beautiful on the outside.... she seems to be just as gorgeous on the inside!
Jerry Hall, Grace Jones, and Anjelica Huston were the iconic models of the 70's. All were multi-talented.
Presence! Attitude! Jerry is unique in all aspects. Long may she reign!
Jerry looks like moving artwork. One of a kind
what a beautiful thing to say - and i concur!

And being 6 ft tall. Reminds me of Veruschka. Amazing how some people win that gene pool lottery!
@@t.y.5565 Her kids didn't! Lizzie is awful. Georgia isn't too bad but would not be a model without the connections.
The goddess of the runway 💖💕💋🎉
Jerry Hall is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

Yep! I loved that show! Every Saturday morning 9 am I was glued to the TV. Elsa Klensch was an icon in her own right. 💜
I watched it religiously Too!. Lived for it

What a classic!
The very youngest Jerry, even at
Bill Blass.
Such a storied and legendary career.
Her work @ Mugler her finest.
Knockout!
Miss Bill Blass
seriously the best retrospective i have seen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woman like this are not made but born Thank you for making the world beautiful
She’s fabulous. I danced with her in a Paris nightclub (le 78) in 1981. I STILL tell that story!!
Jerry is like cake´s cherry at every BEST fashion show
It must feel incredible Jerry!
Jerry is the only model I know where you look AT HER....not the clothes......................
Love this woman..so sultry. She looks like Marlene Dietrich.
She's much more beautiful than Marlene Dietrich. But then again I've never thought Marlene Dietrich was beautiful or even pretty.
Nicely done!💜
Jerry, glamorous .Today Always so beautiful, I loved when it was with Mick Jagger
Me too. They were meant for each other. Even in their old age they still fight 😂 Mick said she was impossible to live with just a few years ago! 🤣 If he’s still talking shit about her to the media that means he still loves her ❤️❤️
Jagger was nuts not to be faithful to her & legally marry after having 4 children with her. He was always a womanizer- his loss.
Yes, so "impossible to live with" he was with her for 22 years and had FOUR children with her.
She’s got a knockout smile! The way she prances & struts- really exciting to watch
Adore her 🥰
She's a queen
She is a performer. She moves so well and makes the clothes come to life.
A goddess
I was standing next to her and mick at xenon disco in nyc. Late 70’s. So so beautiful. She’s my favorite model.
Jerry is so special!, truly beautiful , glamorous and sexy , like no other model! She brings everything she wears to life and more… with her own magic .
Back when fashion was beautiful....
Well, the eighties were unfortunate for fashion. 6:50
That red get-up was hideous!
Miss Hall is Still the most Beautiful woman on the Planet!!😍
In my humble opinion🤔
Thanks for the upload 👍
My pleasure ❤ Glad you enjoyed it 😊
I completely agree.
What a Fabulous woman
Back when your parents couldnt buy you a modelling career! How did we allow the fashion industry lose this magic and be over run with bland, talentless rich kids playing dress up.

The time of real talent. Something we're missing deeply nowadays.
I know. I used to practically gag when I'd see Paris Hilton trying to model. She is seriously cheesy.

Beautiful collection
I was never taken by her "beauty". She does look good modeling. I hadn' seen her modeling before believe it or not.
It was forty years ago. Big in the seventies, you are too young.
Legendary ❤
Jerry Hall is one of the most beautiful women on the planet! We love you Jerry!
💛🌟✨👑✨🌟💛
I love her hair. Not extensions
she is stunning and so interesting hope she writes her life story
The camera loves her
Wow wow wow
She would slay Evangelista
So much attitude and class ! Love her face, hair and walk ! She gives all she has everytime and this is why she is so timeless :)
Rubbish. How about they were BOTH FANTABULOUS.
@@michaelreilly3513 you are right!! Could you imagine both of them together on the runway!! But I do think Linda probably learned a lot from watching Jerry, they are both mesmerising!!
Sorry, Both ladies are iconoclast.
There’s no slaying to be done.
Fabulous model❤

Mugler

Who’s the model in between jerry and Eva at 4:33?
Chrystele Saint Louis Augustin
KWEEEEN
True glamour.
She dropped her children at school and always drove a Rolls Royce.
the original Supermodel was Jean Shrimpton.
Suzy Parker was the first model to achieve mainstream celibrity status in the 1950's long before Shrimpton.
Europeen models are more classy.
@@Methilde Nah, the Africans are.
@@jazminelee5166 if you are thinking to Naomi Cambell it's true.

Models up to the 1990s were amazing….
True model, beauty. Not like the fake models today whose rich families pay the companies so their kids can model. Miss these days.
I defo think Linda Evangelista learned a lot from watching Jerry on the runway. “Don’t mess with this bitch attitude”
I wish I knew the years that were represented here.

Просто невероятно Красиво все в ней
Why the long face?
From the plane of her cheek to Fabulon -- via Air Aphrodite alone, _bon voyage_ beauty lovers....
Shout out to Mesquite!!!🤠💙🤍
She should have stayed with Brian Ferry.
Jerry Hall, Iman, Katoucha. They were s.th else and still are.Its about the attitude. You have or dont. And nowadays i have to say they dont😂
Attitude has gone extinct unfortunately
She looked like she was a New York socialite then she spoke and you knew she was Texas' own...
Descended from a truck driver!
A beautiful freak nothing else..
这样的女人看着才有风情
she looks like maleficent
think that would fit my home schooling agenda tomorrow?
Personality and glamour........Incredible model.
STUNNING 😍 💋🏳️🌈🔥🤩🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I would love to be tall!

Beautiful face, legs shape not sexy
Sad that she ended up under Rupert Murdoch. Money must have ran out.
Wrong choice of men altogether.
what a bunch of rediculous clothing- such artifice- fakery
Have you seen Stella McCartney's fashion shows?
Gives good face, shame about the legs!
She always looked old.
Old?
