The immortan Joe ending scene is one of the best villain battles I've seen in a while. It was just so badass no fancy fighting, no fancy 3d camera where they're bouncing around the screen for five minutes, no fancy dialog where they're all talking. It was just one awesome speech followed by a brutal death after a long movie of the main villain wrecking havoc on everyone.
2:45 This scene does and always will give me chills. The actor is amazing, you can tell that she's waited so long for this moment and is finally getting what she's desired for after such a long time
This film still stands, to me, as quite possibly the best edited movie of all time. It deserved that Oscar. If you know the history of its editing, you’ll be extremely surprised how this film even got made.
2:13 this moment makes me cry with such joy. If you didn’t believe she had fight in her before, this moment will make you. Furiosa’s yell is so primal and savage. It’s says I will go to every length to have my freedom and I will reach far down into my soul to have the strength to fight you and die for it if I have to. Charlize Theron should have been nominated for that moment alone.
Mel Gibson was at the Cannes premiere and approved of the movie. According to George Miller: "Mel was at the premiere of the movie, and I sat next to him. We hadn't seen each other in a long time. Mel is someone who, in a sense, cannot lie. And he started chuckling during the movie and I thought, There's that chuckle I remember! Mel kept chuckling, and he started digging me in the ribs. He gave me great perspective because he is a great actor, but in the end, he is a really great director."
What gets me about Immortan Joe's death is that, in his very final moments, we got to see him for what he really was: a snarling beast filled only with rage and hate. When he is stepping on the neck of the common man, Immortan Joe is a perfect despot: charismatic, intimidating, and composed. But the further you go in the movie, the more noticeable it becomes that Joe loses his cool when things stop going his way. When one of his babymakers dies, he yells uselessly into the distance. And when Furiosa, the woman he's supposed to have on a loyal leash, looks him in the eyes while he sits at the seat of his own car--his throne--and dares him to remember how he wronged her, he growls like a feral animal. He's a monster, and Furiosa has slain him.
"Remember me!" So ironic when Furiosa says it haha while other War Boys say it so that Joe could help them enter Valhalla, Furiosa says it so Joe remembers why he goes through so much hell.
It’s “remember me?” with a question mark, you can tell by the way she enunciates it as a question like “remember me, b***?”. It’s also with a question mark in the script/subtitles.
such a satisfying way to defeat Immorten Joe although it's reported most can actually survive without their jaws but ya know movie villain and all love how Furiosa gets the final word making him pay for the life that was stolen from her
I like her being a cripple. Gives her a disadvantage, but also makes her very human, and a big chance to show her inner strenght to keep moving. In short: Furiosa's character works.
Absolutely love the delivery on “I’m gonna need you to drive.” She’s in absolute agony, holding it together to see this thing through. Beautiful stuff.
if u pause it really fast at 2:50 you can see if entire lower jaw is gone including his eyes and such play it in 0.25 speed to make it easier hope this answered the if he died question
Stabbed in the back and bleeding out, but is still going after The Big Boss instead of sending someone else (like Nux). Never Underestimate The Power Of Revenge
Барабанщики и слепой гитарист в этом фильме имеют свое большое место. Это напоминает боевой марш войск перед наступлением и во время боя. Шедевральная идея, которая только может прийти в голову режиссеру.
It’s “remember me?” with a question mark, you can tell by the way she enunciates it as a question like “remember me, b***?”. It’s also with a question mark in the script/subtitles.
I bid you take your place in halls of Valhalla where the brave shall live forever nor shall we mourn but rejoice for those who have died a glorious death. R.I.P Hugh Keays-Byrne
My greatest fear before watching Furiosa today (another origins story, after all): Theron's/Furiosa's face when she confronts Immortan Joe says everything you need to know about her past. An entire movie based on that is hardly gonna beat the images you have inside your head after seeing her here. REMEMBER HER.
Furiosa impaled his face with the spear. When it went under the tires, it ripped his face off. If you pause at 2:46, you''ll see the edge is through his mask, impaled into his face, and when it went under the tire, it took his face with it. The question is would such a thing be fatal? I'm not entirely sure. I believe it would have been extremely painful and possibly fatal later on without medial care. Either way he would have been severely disfigured.
the way it went, it is fatal pretty quickly - lot of really touchy stuff through there - carotid artery, jugular, and it probably did a number on him windpipe too.
@@mrhellotherehowareu1384 I think he died because the mask helped him breath and also broke his neck, imagine that old neck bones having to deal his jaw getting ripped off by the wheels of his Cadillac
Mateus no matter what happens, even with a broken neck, death is never immediate unless the brain is destroyed instantly. He probably died with his only sensations being that of gurgling on his own blood and the resulting asphyxiation. If he sustained a severe concussion during the event, which is very likely, his brain probably hemorrhaged and he more or less bled out on the inside and died within seconds, and probably lost consciousness milliseconds before then from trauma.
Max is like Batman, there's always a new adventure and new characters, while his name is on the title dosen't mean it's always about him. Then that would be the first movie, Mad Max, where the the whole movie centers around him, his origin story if you will.
Furiosa and Max will ride again. There is plenty of guzzlene, diesel, water, and mother's milk, to fight for in post apocalyptic Australia. This is not their last ride together. They are awaited, shiney and chrome.
She didn´t went back. Cheedo wanted to help Furiosa to get onto the Gigahorse. So she tricked Rictus to get her onto the Gigahorse so she could lend a Hand to the injured Furiosa
I love how the guitarist fights back a little but as soon as he gets the guitar in his hands he resumes shredding it lol
Primary motive: play some tunes
I mean is he really that evil? Or does he just roll with the boys because they have the dopest setup?
Dedication. When they made the guitar movie prop, it weighed several hundred pounds so even if he wanted to fight back, I don't think he could.
He was fighting for his guitar back. That's all he wanted.
It is a lifestyle for him. He is guitarded, lives by the axe and dies by the axe. May he continue to shred his axe in Valhalla, shiney and chrome.
RIP Hugh Keays-Byrne

Yeah pretty much, it's only beaten by the final fights of The Raid movies.
What do you mean by bouncing around the screen for five mins 😓😓😓
There's no such thing as a 1v1 in this movie. Everyone is helping out their side however they can.
It’s one of the many details that makes it so great!
Yes yes yes

Furiosa: "if I remove the mask, will you die?"
Joe: "It will be extremely painful."
Ironically, that was Tom Hardy...who plays Immortan Joe's enemy here.
“…for me.”
She hooked his jaw & the mask while his mouth was open, that’s why it ripped his entire lower face off.
He’s a big guy.

Richard Norton is good as well in this moment
Funny how the doof warrior keeps them sick riffs coming even after being attacked by Max
Not only that, but he deliberately changes tempo to alert the crew he's under attack.
The guy who plays doof later married a girl who plays one of the 5 wives.

the immortan joe death scene is god. No monologue, no fancy camera, just straight badass.

2:46 that line and immortan Joe's scream, kind of "roar" makes this my favorite villain death
It's funny how he hissed at her, just like he did in Mad Max 1
2:45 that snarl is awesome. Good movie
"And by the time we got to 'im, he was just sittin' there tryin' to scream with 'is face ripped off."
Not a scream,a roar.

He probably died from shock since his body was already extremely weak, having half your face ripped off instantly has to be pretty painful
Can probably survive without their jaws with access to modern medical technology. Post-apocalypse? Chances aren’t probably as high.
Not without his oxygen mask.
Hold still you have something stuck in your teeth
he needs the mask to live
