    I've been thinking about buying this as it looks so much more convenient and less hassle than installing a Floyd on my Baretta Special.

    • @GuitarNutBuster
      @GuitarNutBuster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi AP, the Guitar NutBuster requires no modifications, wood routing or screws and is not permanently mounted to the guitar in any way. It is a completely floating and suspended system that attaches solely to the strings and hovers over the headstock completely off of and away from the wood and paint finish preventing any damages from possibly occurring to the guitar while in use.

    • @APK-pn4qh
      @APK-pn4qh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GuitarNutBuster it sounds and looks pretty damn good but it is a little bit expensive to be honest. I might buy one to see if it will upgrade my beautiful Baretta Special but the Nutbuster is actually dearer than the guitar was! Either way congratulations on designing an amazing piece of kit.

    100% impressed. I have a old Fernandez that is all but close to staying in tune even with a few controlled dive bombs.
    It even came with a missing little bar system that was meant to act as a six strings, string tree. This system would neatly land in its place hiding the 2 holes :-)

    Great review Tony. For initial installation, do you think you could use previously wound stings, or would you need new strings? Thanks!

    • @addictedtogear
      @addictedtogear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are careful you can use the strings that were on the guitar.

    • @GuitarNutBuster
      @GuitarNutBuster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Rico, although it is possible to use previously wound strings that have been straightened out at the ends for installation it is highly recommended to start off with a new set of strings to assist in fishing them straight through the Guitar NutBuster string hole cavities and making it much quicker and easier to accomplish. 🎸

    • @bluwng
      @bluwng ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a very smart design it may have been a Yamaha the model the Korn guitarist used. Simple effective and elegant. Why mess with so many screws when you can just turn a lever arm to lock/unlock. BTW that silly nut coat more than his budget guitar.

    • @brucehayes7251
      @brucehayes7251 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bluwng reinventing the wheel it seems yes. My nut was already on a second hand guitar in possibly 1989 or 1990,as I said ,no markings / brand but very efficient. Not dissimilar to other screw down locking nuts but much easier to drastically retune or replace a broken string. The guitar had a vintage style 6 screw trem and it seemed to handle my teenage enthusiasm.

      @@brucehayes7251 it’s unfortunate when simple straight forward and inexpensive designs get thrown by the wayside. • @bluwng
    @bluwng ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The bridge is just a hinge that pivots on a fulcrum if it is made of a cheap alloy or titanium will make very little,difference in performance, it will impact reliability (long term ) but not function. If the locking made an improvement for the budget guys get a Kahler behind the nut lock for a few bucks. When you first tune it will be iterative but once set you are good to go.

    A great idea but half decent locking tuners dont cost the earth.
    Also a new nut wont set you back too much either even with luthier fees if you dont wanna tackle it yourself.
    Great vid though sir and a nice tone on the ol geetar.

    • @Polentaccio
      @Polentaccio ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes those don't solve the issue though. I have locking tuners, lsr roller nut and wilkjnson trem and this one guitar is a total bitch to keep in tune. It just won't stay in tune where I have two other fender types that have zero issues.

    • @NILOCOgov
      @NILOCOgov ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Polentaccio The only variable this totally eliminates is the tuners and string trees. The nut itself is still a friction point, although the strings prevent each other from moving individually across the nut. So individual strings won’t go out of tune but the whole guitar can go out if the nut is cut poorly. If a particular instrument has tuning issues more serious than just one string, I seriously doubt that this will solve those issues in a band scenario.

    I wonder if it will fit a Big Lou wide neck guitar?

    • @GuitarNutBuster
      @GuitarNutBuster 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi TRIPFORM, those necks appear to have pretty wide string spacings at the nut. The Guitar NutBuster would likely not fit properly unless there were enough room available over the headstock area between the nut and closest tuner to create a string width transition space between the Guitar NutBuster and the wider nut. The Guitar NutBuster is extremely versatile and is designed to be used on Standard 6-String Electric & Acoustic Guitars having a common (1-3/8”, 1-13/32” or 1-7/16”) Low E string to High E string spread at the nut. This basically covers the vast majority of common guitar models available having a Total Nut Width of 1-11/16″ (plus or minus 1/32″). It also works with both right and left-handed guitars. 🎸

    • @GuitarNutBuster
      @GuitarNutBuster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Geoff, traditional locking systems require irreversible modifications to be made to the guitar. Due to its patented “All-in-One” and floating/suspended design, the Guitar NutBuster is the only Tune Stabilizing System available that is completely non-invasive, non-damaging and requires absolutely no modifications, wood routing, screw holes or guitar parts swapped out. It's actually a fraction of the cost when directly compared to purchasing and professionally installing a full blown, traditional locking system. What’s it worth to finally remedy your tuning problems, have “tuning peace of mind” onstage, or reconnect with a beloved old guitar that you couldn’t use the whammy on? And, if you want, there’s nothing to say that you couldn’t easily take it off and try it on another guitar! The Guitar NutBuster does its job all while remaining a totally non-invasive mod which is pretty rare for hardware! And yes, it could have been manufactured cheaper with lower quality and standards elsewhere, but you get what you pay for. The Guitar NutBuster is proudly designed, manufactured and assembled to the highest quality & standards in the USA.

      @GuitarNutBuster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Processdrone, in all actuality, the Guitar NutBuster offers noticeable tone and sustain enhancing benefits that are especially apparent on hardtail electrics and acoustic guitars due to its 2.2 oz. solid tool steel mass resting and resonating directly behind the guitar nut. 🎸

      Hmmm. I didn't really notice this at all in this video. But hard to tell from a few little bits of playing where he's not really attempting to play with sustaining any chords or notes, this isn't his focus in the video but rather wiggling the vibrato bar seems to be the focus. I'm thinking about getting one of these to try on a Strat and will see how it affects the sustain.
