I planned to attend today's mass at 5pm, pero naalala ko (nakabihis na ako) I don't have avail. shoes kasi kakalinis ko lang and basa pa, so I decided attend the recorded OL mass na lang. My sister said, nagra rason ka lang e - then, I told her that you should look presentable when attending mass. You're not just going somewhere; you are going to the house of the Lord. I am agnostic, and I know this rule, and I respect the church's practice, and it's the least I could do. p.s. Even tho I am agnostic, during the 1st yr of the pandemic, I listened to Fr. Orbos' homilies. It's close to home.
Not all churches enforce a no-slippers policy. You just have to dress with your ordinary casual clothes. You don't have to be "presentable." Your presence, and sacrificing your time and effort to attend the mass is more than appreciated.
Invitation to be kind ... and yet we fill our tables with corpses of God's sentient creations whenever it's Christ's birthday. 😢 When people like Saint Francis brings these up, he becomes a saint. When a scientist mentions how this harms our planet, they are ignored, downplayed, or made fun of. 😔
