How do you know when a foreigner in the Philippines is no longer a foreigner?
When she loves to eat bagoong, like Susie! 👍🤙😁

Susie is fast becoming a Filipina. Her Tagalog is getting richer and better, and her pronunciation has greatly improved. Bravo!
Kaorin is a daring woman, not scared to try different Filipino food and desserts. Checked her channel --found out she's a good pole gymnast ---very active. Good for her. Bravo.

I love watching your friends' reactions to Philippine culture.
I also think that you (Susie) probably had a past life as a filipina.
I'd love to see more of the really local Holiday celebration/festivities in your area.

the Manila Acapulco galleon trade that run twice a year for 250 years without fail from 1565-1815 between Manila in the Philippines and Acapulco in Mexico brought about many cultural interchanges include food. many Filipino foods are variations from those of Mexico like tamales, empanada, chicharon and champorado

This is a great Manila episode, Susie, but too short that we're guessing this is in parts perhaps?
Love the Hungarian bit at Fort Santiago with Rizal's poem. You're right, that's a bit of a multi-verse kind of phenomenon you just experienced about Kaorin reading Rizal's poem originally in Spanish, in Hungarian, to you here not just in any part of the Philippines but in Fort Santiago of all places, where he wrote it over a century ago. That's a rerally nice experience we're glad you had the "weird" moment having with your friend from way back in Hungary. (And Kaorin reading it to Marian as well-who'd have thought? Props to Kaorin for that.) Lastly, we award you a Golden Bananacue for biting into the green mango + bagoong without flinching!PS. We kind of know it's "goodbye" soon to Kaorin and Marian in Manila. Aww…

Just an FYI, Visayas don’t use “Palenke” instead they use a more Spanish name for market or store, it’s “tiendahan” from the Spanish word “Tienda” 👍🏽
This is an example where Illonggo or Hiligaynon deviates so much from Tagalog.
Punta tayo sa palengke = Lakat ta sa tiendahan

Geographically, Negros Oriental speaks Cebuano or Bisayan and not Illonggo or Hiligaynon. You are indeed a student of the Philippines plus you are quite intelligent.
