SEMRush Tutorial: How to Use SEMRush and Rank Higher on Google!

This is a step by step tutorial on how to use SEMRush and help you rank higher on google by improving your SEO via carrying out keyword research, competitor analysis and backlink analytics.
Throughout the video I show you how to create a free 7-day trial for SEMRush so you can do the same and follow my guide as this will be most beneficial for your understanding.
We then through every tool under the 'keyword research' tab within SEMRush, explaining how to identify keywords and how to track your positions. Finally we touch on competitor analysis and backlink analytics.
There is tons of information within SEMRush and hence I have filtered out anything I don't think will be useful for you and focussed on the parts which will be most beneficial to SEO. As well as explaining how to navigate the tools, I have also given my best tips on how each tool can be applied to maximise the benefits to SEO.

Definitely one of the best tutorials on youtube. You covered alot but never went too far into details on any topic, you phrase your sentences shortly, direct, easy to understand that leaves no questions. Ive subscribed and will check out more of your videos.

This is excellent! I loved it. A question for you. If you only manage one website and have an idea of your main keyword lists, do you recommend setting up projects for each of them under that one domain? Is that what you are suggesting around 3:57? So in essence, you add phrase, broad, exact, and related to each keyword list under the project? Any clarity would be much appreciated.
Glad you found it helpful Craig! I definitely wouldn’t setup a project for each keyword as you can track individual keywords within most of the tools anyway. The benefit of grouping keywords into projects is that you can track the overall improvement of that group of keywords via the traffic and visibility scores. Depending on what’s on that one website you may find it helpful to create a separate project for different sections of the site such as blogs/e-commerce etc. Hope that helps and best of luck with ranking on Google! It really depends on what you’re aiming to do, there’s no right or wrong. I would group them together if I was you as you can only make a limited amount of projects within semrush 👍
Hello, this may sound silly, but would you say that your tutorial covers up to 90% or even 100% of the full capabilities on SEM Rush. Just want to make sure that I don't miss anything :)

Hey it depends on what you’re trying to do. If you’re using SEMRush for everything it offers which is quite rare then no, it maybe covers 60% of it 👍

Hey, the keywords you’ve selected should be added to your website in the form of meta titles, meta descriptions and keywords within blogs/articles/pages on your website.

I'm a 19 year old uni student, I would like to have some professional advice. I hope you don't mind if I ask you. So, I tried to set up a ltd company through tide for free and I thought, I needed to register as ltd to start my side hustle business. Now, I have a confirmation letter that says that I'm a director but I don't have a job. I want to sell on eBay while studying in uni. What should I do? Call company house and tell them that I want to cancel my company ltd or should I just be an ltd without having a job and sell on eBay by just bieng self employed? What should I do, in this situation?

Can you clarify why you’re concerned about being a director without a job? And what you think is holding you back at the moment?
I may have misunderstood your concerns but there’s nothing stopping you to trade on eBay through your limited company whilst being a Uni (without a job).

Hey Jad, the idea came from my belief that we need to concur all parts of ourselves to be successful and not just financial or social etc. Holistic = all parts of a whole are completely interconnected and hustle = our every day activities to get to where we want to be.
