It's always a pleasure to wake up to a new video from you, and I liked this one yet again. The small boat video's are more relatable, but this shows really intense and spectacular sailing :D
From the look on your face you were enjoying the solo sailing. It’s got to be tough going from small boat to your self for the most part to elbows and assholes! Great video!
I love the way you pass off six to seven metre swell as a minor thing. Then you immediately cut to sink needs two plug holes. The small details that no one thinks about until it's an issue.
Yeah, sailing the southern ocean changes a bit your scales when it comes to wind and swell :) (have a look at episode #105 if you haven't done so yet th-cam.com/video/Te3C7sYBexE/w-d-xo.html )
Fantastic, footage, edit, content, and music. Showing what it is really like when a long passage is undertaken with a happy crew. Thanks for your efforts. Remember... "Beyond All Things Is The Sea" Seneca "
The drone shots are awesome and you really show what it's like to sail such a race!! Keep it up, we'll keep watching ;)
Thanks Hugo. Another great episode. Thank you for keeping my dream alive. I was due to race on Dare To Lead for the final Atlantic Homecoming Leg this summer. Here's hoping the race restarts next February so we can race next summer
Oh no! What bad luck with the birthday cake! Hope you didn't get the blame because you were on the helm at the time. And who knew there was a wind limit on moustaches. I was wondering what you were on about, until I saw that the port side handlebar was blown around to cover the starboard! LOL.
Great video... brings back memories... I was on Korea ...we were on your tail at the end... we had much worse weather on average than you seemed to,?? Different tracks I suppose...Well done ..
Could someone tell me what is the song at ~ 3:00 really nice but i can't find it in description, there is to much artists :) C'est tellement chouette de te suivre Hugo, on voyage avec toi et c'est une magnifique aventure ! Merci beaucoup !
Ok, a minor question here, can anyone answer? The white shields front of steering wheels…look like porous cloth nets. What is their purpose? Partial wind block? Thank you. PS music is beautiful
Hugo, have you considered creating your own brand of clothing merchandise? Many TH-camrs have began to create their own unique merch and sell them for a very good profit. If not, I understand, it could be difficult to set up such a network from the sea; however, I would definitely purchase your merch. You have wonderful content and an uncanny style: your product, I'm sure, would sell. Shirts with your "Sailing Frenchman" logo, or even a logo of just your sunglasses and your moustache, that would be cool! Consider it, would love to buy The Sailing Frenchman clothes! Keep up the videos, love to watch
I don't understand... 45 knots is around 9 Beaufort scale, and 65 knots is already 12 😨 Is your wind meter OK, or you report the apparent wind? It doesn't look like storm to me 🤔

"Nothing more than 45 knots & 7 meter swells" - Well, you have certainly not gone soft! Great vid
I know!!! how did they manage to stay awake with so much boredom!
@@norml.hugh-mann Some crazy frenchman with a ukulele kept them awake I heard
I Love it! Sea Cake for Josh!!! LMAO! What an Awesome Crew! The synergy among'st sailing mates is Awesome!
It feels like a privilege to see footage like this. Thanks.
salty birthday cake. Those are the ones to remember... Excellent 2nd place...
Notice they left Hugo up top ...alone... and a stray wave hit the cake....coincidence? I don’t think soooo, lol thanks for the video Hugo, you da man
The sea tried to steal your cake but you stopped her , good job 🙂
Really spectacular footage...so difficult to capture bad weather, and hardcore sailing...you do it so well ;) -Rebecca on SV Brick House

After thousands of miles racing what a close finish. Congradulations

You look happiest when you are leaning it over at the helm Hugo..... :)
Thanks for this new episode dude! and congrats for your second position at the arrival !!! Well done !!!
Best open ocean racing videos!
Great to see this footage after following the race
Belle manche. Marc

I would truly be honored to be a part of your crew! Be blessed 🌬️💨⛵🤙🏼
What a great video! Perfect music. Thanks for sharing Hugo. You've got a basket full of skills.
Nice bit of helming to time it just right for the wave down the hatch and onto the cake!!
Fantastic footage as always. Thanks Hugo 😁
Very good job well done thanks again for the ride along.
I liked this one that little bit more because of the familiar accents 🇦🇺 Great video Hugo - congrats on the 2nd. 🎉
Thanks! 😃
I can only imagine. Amazing.

Moustache limit is 20Knts LOL

Yeah, it was a tough finish, you guys did an awesome come back!
Haha, I see I am not the only one that like crocs onboard! Not stylish I know, but cheap, waterproof, and stops me breaking my toes :P
Haha I noticed them, their the same colour as mine lol. Boy do I get some stick from my family for wearing them lol
Exactly!
Could someone tell me what is the song at ~ 3:00 really nice but i can't find it in description, there is to much artists :)

Two plug holes, it's the little things that make all the difference. I can understand how frustrating it'd be

Awesome. Well done to you guys.
Great ride Mate very nice 2.👏👍⚓️
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job, Well done 👍
“Chubby chic” really made me smile
Felicitacions! Fantastique!
Nice memories :) purpose of life :)
I am impressioned!! Question, How long did have you filmed and how much did you for edit the video?
What’s with the yellow and red crocs?
Totally awesome 😍
This is awesome man!

What’s that song please, around 9.5?
Félicitations pour votre seconde place.
Where can I find the song "Julii Sharp - help me stop"? 7:50

@@TheSailingFrenchman Much thanks!
Great thank oyu very much great shots and I guess plenty of time ot edit :(
Hugo. I've been thinking this for a while now. Shouldn't you be wearing I red croc and 1 green croc. So you know which way you are facing?...
Sailing through the southern ocean is a like repeatably hitting your head on a wall. You feel fantastic when you stop!! ...and makes a happy boat. : )
Haha, great analogy :)
Finally!
Badass Hugo
Great keeping things in perspective. As they say, “it’s a marathon, not a sprint”. Consistency is the prize 😉.
