This is my favorite Tony interview. This guy is great, because there is just no pretention at all, just a guy who likes good music and talking to musicians. Thank you!
Calling TR bluegrass always shakes me up a bit. Now he undoubtedly is, it's not even arguable otherwise. However, he's so much MORE than that imho. One of the giants of guitar playing to me, just an absolute gift to us all, and a humble and normal man to boot.
Does anybody know the tune at the very end of the video? I dig the hell out of it. RIP Tony! You are always an inspiration, as a musician and as a person.
Funny John mentioned The Down Home. Thats where I saw him the very first time live with NewGrass Revival as well as The Tony Rice Unit. It changed my music listening life!! No place on earth is like The Down Home to hear and see great bands.

Nice TR interview. Very simple straightforward questions and Tony handled them beautifully. Thanks for posting this.

I love seeing Tony grinning so much here. He’s truly enjoying this interview. We miss the heck out of you, Mr. Rice.
I’m not a Tony Rice historian, but Tony seems to be enjoying this conversation. More than any other interview I’ve seen.
Tony I love you. He said nobody is gonna sound like me so what’s the point in showing them to much of how I play. Just show them the elements
It's amazing how he brought new styles into the bluegrass style

Love John, Love Tony
Great interviews
Rip tony
Tony Rice re-invented the mower wheel, cuttin' that old Kentucky blue grass. TRUE legend, not likely surpassed in skill, EVER. God bless America 🇺🇸
Amen brother!
Tell em man!!! Yeah
Tony god!!!
It's so disturbing to hear Tony talk!
Hes still a strong soul and a brilliant player even though his voice has gone.
