    This is incredibly lovely. You have such a niche channel and I'm surprised not more people are taking notice

    Wow! You really know what you are doing! Great camera work (!!!) and editing! Judging from the frame line (thickness), your camera has a very stable image. I'm a Super 16mm guy since that is exactly the look and feel I'm after, but your Super 8mm footage is just great. The Vision 3 stocks are awesome and the 50D is really smooth and epic.

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yeah I have my 16mm set up and it delivers a far better image, but for a lightweight travel camera, the super8 can't be beat. Vision 3 is great, and your K-3 footage looks really nice!

      Thank you! Still all test footage. Well I trust that soon I will be able to come up with the "serious" footage I have in mind.

    I love this so much, editing and camera work on point!! Where did you get your super 8mm film developed? Been looking for quite a while now and I haven't found a place to develop it

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you! I live in NYC and I get my film developed in CineLab in MA. However I use Metropolis Post in NYC which handles it all including high quality scans.

    Was the sound added to the movie on editing ?(no more sound Super 8 films available, only silent ones)

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, the sound was added in post. You can no longer get Super8 with sound.

      @@nwiesner What did you use to record the sound?

    • @nwiesner

      @@AHLIYON Nothing, I didn't record any live sound.

    Hi Nick love your film! I just started trying super 8, and shot a 200T on a sunny day in Barcelona, so the images look kinda washed out / white, I imagine the film is quite over exposed, but the thing is my old bell & howell 491 doesn't really have a exposure / filter option, would you have any suggestion then on using the rest of my 200t stock in daylight? Thanks!

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I'm not too familiar with the exposure/metering in the B&H 491... Perhaps your internal metering is off? Modern Vision3 200T should be able to handle a bit of overexposure even in sunlight. I'd recommend shooting around golden hour or sunset to see if it handles softer light nicely, if you are still seeing over exposure then perhaps the "notches" or internal metering in your camera are off.

    Hi! Cool material! What was the process of choosing the camera, why 310XL?

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's lightweight and runs on AA batteries, it's also cheap.

    Hey man great film, what's the best film to buy for daylight use?

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks! if its bright and sunny, go for 50D or the new Ektachrome 100D if you want to try reversal.

    Hey I’m a long time film photographer. And I just wanna let you know this video made me go out and get this camera lol. One question. Did you do any notch hacking to the films at all? I saw something about that in another video. Or does that not apply to vision 3 films ? Thanks. Lovely work again

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Nah I didn't. It really only technically applies when you use 500T speed film, but it's generally accepted that it can handle some overexposure and results in great results anyway. So again, no notch hacking needed, just go out and shoot!

      Hey Landon, this actually is modern film without sound. All you hear has been done in post-production.

    I really like the editing 😍 I actually did a similar video , 8mm of LA too, but with a slightly different theme ☺️, I'd love to hear your opinion on it, Also Where did you get the music from 😍?

    • @nwiesner
      @nwiesner  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I checked out your video, but it is quite clearly shot on video or a phone and not Super 8mm film. I'd say go out and give film a try! Best of luck.

    • @nwiesner

      Yeah I can tell it was digital, I however shot this on actual 8mm film something a digital filter effect still can't quite replicate.
