I always have and I have been very vocal that she not be reduced to a singer thst could just "Whistle". Its a unique skill that she has, but its just a tiny part of her vocal arsenal. Her bread and butter are her phenomenal basic singing skills head and shoulders above the rest, dynamics, control, breath support, vocal breaks, instincts to know when to give and when to hold back, phrasing, sustained quality notes, resonance and in my opinion vibrato that is literally a work of art. Morissette has hundreds of performances uploaded on youtube alone that are incredible, only a handful have whistles. If she never Whistled again shed still be in the unparalleled category. Anyone who says she's just a "whistler" has not paid attention to her body of work at all.
i returned to check who had d better belt in Akin Ka Na Lang between her and Katrina, and i realized the openness, free quality of that belt that only Mori has.
morissette is now the standard in singing in the philippines. after she sings a song, no one has the right to sing it anymore... evidence: VISION OF LOVE AKIN KA NA LANG RISE UP NEVER ENOUGH Regine was the standard ...it's now Morissette's time :) From a truly gifted vocal master, Regine to another equally gifted vocal prodigy, Morissette :) Pride of the Philippines, truly :)

No one is comparing them. Regine is a legend and will always be Asian's song bird but you know deep in your heart Mori can sing all her hits flawless. Even better I bet.
I recently stumbled upon this Philippian jewel. So unworldly her voice, range, versatility, passion and power...and decent spirit. I hope she sings in English as well. If she were to somehow appear on the American stage...on radios and the like - oh my!
I see a lot of comments on overseas videos like Asia song festival, criticizing the audience for not screaming and being loud and boisterous... this video here is why... like myself most people go to a concert to hear the singer not see who can out scream their neighbor. It ruins the experience. And also ruins any hope you have of getting a decent video on your phone. Believe me at 67 yrs old I’ve been to 100s of concerts , maybe it was the pot, but I don’t remember this much noise during the performance.. in between songs and at the end yea..
It was 2013 or 2014 when this song came out, she was not that famous then, but this is the only OPM song I had on my phone back then. I'm ultimately her fan since the beginning. I'm just so happy that she showed her talent a lot now. I can watch her all day. Thanks God for this talent. And I should thank her parents. I just definitely love this girl. Please take care of yourself and voice. You're a gem and should be treated as one. Basta Bisaya Grabeh Gyud!! 2019? anyone?
This young woman has so much going for her: impeccable vocal technique, a strong stage presence, the ability to connect with her audience and convey the meaning and emotion of a song. You never get the feeling Morissette sings simply to showcase her vocal process like some singers do. If she takes cares of her voice, does not accept too many engagements that may unduly tax her precious instrument, and doles out her belting judiciously, she will have a long career. Of more importance, she would want her voice to be in tip-top form when she finally gets the opportunity to tour or perform in more prominent international venues. I certainly hope the people managing Morissette's career are thinking long-term: they should be more selective in accepting invitations to perform and imposing sufficient rest days in-between performances. At this point in her career, she can and should decline singing engagements that won't do much to raise her stature.
Very good advice. I hope her people see this. This woman is the best singer alive today and I hope she gets the international exposure and recognition she deserves very soon.
What’s not to love about her? The voice, she’s humble, she’s sings with emotions, I mean, I sould go on and on and still would not justify how great she is.

Morissette is amazing!! She puts more heart and soul into just one of her songs than other singers do in any ,or all of theirs. She reduces me to tears as I see the cost her singing takes on her. All I know is that I am going to treasure every note I hear her sing. She has my undying support as the best vocalist in the world today. Everything she sings she ruins for anyone trying to sing a song she has already done. Plus you cannot find a better human being, who, though she has tremendous gifts from God, does not think herself better than any one. God Bless Morissette, and protect her from those that do not have her best interests in their hearts.
