This player has made me excited very much. I found the potential of guitar in a classic concert formation thanks to this video.
you can be sure that guitar has much more potential than this. in many places in this video when guitarist plays fast, notes dont ring out because he has to change to another position and starts changing his right hand position before notes ring long enough. player with better technique/faster hsnds could sound much better in these places
The soloist and orchestra including conductor are tops here. The problems you may find in sound have more to do with mic'ing, hall ambiance and recording/post-production. No offense meant!
@@ViolentFury1 this guys technique is flawless. Maybe his hands are a bit small but he played it fantastically.

Great rendition of some beautiful music . Often with these concertos you get a great soloist but a lack lustre orchestra or vice versa or then you might get a great orchestra and great soloist but poorly recorded . This rendition seems to meet all three criteria very well a very fine guitarist and orchestra and well recorded.

He has a microphone. This may mean he is amplified or that the recording we hear is not a true representation of what the audience hears.
Sadly in Tarrega Competition mic's are only for recording. So you need play very aggressively to be heard. In this particular case I thing Marko just done it best possible way.

What guitar is that?
I love this piece, but not the way this performance was mic'ed. I wish the mic in front of the guitar were moved back a foot or so. The orchestra mics are also too close - too much separation and not enough ambience (IMO).
John Melcher totally. What they do is they do not amplify the guitar but take the sound from less than half a meter from the guitar. Thus, in my case, I sacrifice the sound to be heard and then there comes the recording.
+MarkoTopchii could they not just add a touch of reverb? this recording sounds great to me because i am used to an old cassette of Julian Bream playing it. You can hear so much detail here! it is awesome.

You might have to buy the score if you want just the guitar part without piano/orchestra
2.08 those violinists have to play a lot os scales!!
overall nice performance but some tempos errors for me like the beginning of the first movement and the end of the second.
3rd movement triplets are not rendered as it should for me.
Also for my taste not enough variations of sound productions (right end too static) and some small errors.

I absolutely love this, but those cadences kill me. I feel as though he just gave up on them. Four or five more bars could've given them a much more exciting finish.
Me gustó la interpretación, aunque un poco soberbia, es evidente en la expresión del solista, por momentos pareciera maltratara la guitarra con sus ataques tan fuertes. Pero es genial. Estupendo, un virtuoso sin duda.
