Just a heads up on something to watch out for is that older malteses sometimes develop heart defects like an enlarged heart or a murmur so if you see your guy breathing raspy and/or coughing after running or walking a lot, make sure you get it checked out! A responsibly well-bred Maltese is the BEST breed, especially for anyone wanting a true loving companion dog that doesn't have any dominant breed instincts other than wanting to please their human. They are so easy to potty & behavior train, follow verbal and visual commands, soooo loving & playful, snuggly, happy, goofy, silly, smart, abiding. Maltese are easily socialized with people and dogs, and when properly socialized, they have no aggression or dominance - fall right into any pack of dogs, big or small. And of course - they remain insanely cute throughout their entire life. 😍 Every time I think of "switching it up" and getting another breed, I think "Why?!! There is none better than the Maltese!!" Unfortunately, many would likely challenge my description of Maltese and I think that's because there are alot of irresponsible breeders ... and owners who don't invest in socializing and training their Maltese. PS I love all doggos, they are all Good Boys and Good Girls -- I mean no disrespect to other breeds 😇 just love my Maltie!

At that time I did not want to wash their head because they were still pretty young and it was mainly to get rid of their poopy paws and fur from rolling around on dirty pads.
