I really like the Jethro Tull boxes with the Steven Wilson remixes. The key is to get them when they first come out after awhile the prices go through the roof. Just got the Benefit box also the have the Stormwatch box which is fantastic.
Alright it’s time for you to get over your Steve Wilson bashing. While you may not like what he does, there are others who do. I’m well aware of your position on Steve Wilson and think it’s time to let it go. If you can’t let the rest of us enjoy it, you’ll be blocked.
I started my journey into the boxsets universe with The Dark Side Of The Moon Immersion it was an amazing stuff you got there, the Alan Parson's mix it's a jewel. I hope some day Pink Floyd can give us the Animals Box Set. Great review... Keep on rockin!
The marbles in the DSoM set were another pun from Storm Thorgerson, who designed the box, to tie into the thoughts of madness, "I've always been mad". The pouch was included so you wouldn't lose your marbles...
Hi Brendon ah our loves the box sets have the bruce and dark side and the others I do want eventually maybe one day God bless hope santa brings you more box sets
Great boxsets. When I saw the title I was hoping the NOTW box would be in there and then I saw you tee and I was hoping that wasn't a red herring! It's a great box and the analogue cut record sounds amazing. My favourite boxset is probably the Freddie Mercury solo collection set from 2000 that often gets called 'my baby'
I haven't got many deluxe box sets. Of the type shown I only really have one and that's Never Mind The B Here's The Sex Pistols. You get the album on the first CD, session material on the second and outtakes on the third. The DVD has promotional videos and live footage. The audio content from this was included in the deluxe edition which I also have. I suppose they could do a similar thing for The Clash: London Calling as they have done two different deluxe editions one with a demo disc and the other with a DVD. Plus they released the album in a pressing similar to the vinyl on two CDs. If a box set came out I'm sure they'd put it all in one place.
I heard News of the World at a friends upon its release. I cannot remember exactly how I felt about it at the time. Since then I like just over half the album. It is the first album of theirs I didn't like fully. Thankfully, I liked some of the later albums.
That is some sweet merchandise you got there! I really have an eye for that Queen set. 1977 was a little bit of a tough year for rock groups; disco was exploding and Britain's punk movement was making groups like Queen seem passe. Great picks!
Queen is one of those bands that their style has really never been in fashion but they always seem to find a way to make a track that stands out and gets noticed no matter what.
That Boss THE RIVER box set is glorious! It's my fav Springsteen release, just so musically diverse and great hooks throughout! Can I borrow it until I'm lowered into the ground? Or even longer?
Hi Brendon!! those are awesome deluxe boxsets. I have Pink Floyd's "Dark Side" and always asked myself the meaning of the 3 marbles?? Cheers and be well
Hi Brendon, I'm not sure how much you wanna keep that protective sheet in your Pink Floyd box; I bought years ago the Metallica "Binge/ Purge" (VHS/3cd) boxset, and all the protective bits turned into black powder after the years. I've also had that on some old (fat) double cd's, where they use to put a sheet of protective "foam"...all turned to sticky powder...Anyway, great show! Cheers!
I’ve not had any issues with it and have boxsets that are 30+ years old include the Metallica you spoke of and thats never happened. Maybe it was how you stored it or the climate you live in. That sort of stuff doesn’t happen here.
For me, the QUALITY of the product is the most important aspect. The amount of time and thought put into the release matters. Where is the product made? What is the quality control? Are the pressings on 180 gram vinyl, half speed mastered? Is there a book that is large, hardback and high quality? Reissues should recreate the original artwork exactly, including not having barcodes on the packaging if that is how the original was. Are the discs in polylined sleeves? Does the band approve of and have input in the release? An example of an acceptable level of quality is the Queen Studio Album vinyl box or the Beatles deluxe white album CD set or the Beatles mono albums box.
Love the Dark Side Of The Moon Immersion and Wish You Were Here Immersion is great too...which make it so disappointing that The Wall Immersion was so lacking.
I don’t feel The Wall was lacking at all. In fact I passed on Wish You Were Here and bought The Wall instead. But that’s because all of the good bonus material for Wish You Were Here was on the 2 CD edition.
Yeah, I get that. With The Wall Immersion, I already had "Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall Live" and it didn't include a surround mix which I thought with DSOTM and WYWH were both excellent, I had to pass on it. Definitely looking forward to Animals Immersion, if it ever comes out.
I've had Bruce's 'The Ties That Bind' set in my Amazon watch list for quite awhile now. Mega price tag is keeping me from pulling the trigger on it. 'The River' was my favorite Springsteen album when I first started getting into him. Maybe Santa will bring it to me this year...
another great video on box sets.Have all of them exept Springsteen just can't stand the guy.But Floyd and Queen I'll have to bring mine out for a listen
I love that Hysteria box set. My only disappointing part about it is that there is no dvd of the In The Round concert.
I really like the Jethro Tull boxes with the Steven Wilson remixes. The key is to get them when they first come out after awhile the prices go through the roof. Just got the Benefit box also the have the Stormwatch box which is fantastic.
I do as well. These days both albums and boxsets don’t stay in print very long. I buy everything the day it’s released so I don’t miss out.
@@BrendonSnyder Smart move!!

Animals is being reissued next year.

Whenever possible I try to match my shirt to something in the episode. It’s not always possible but it is fun when it all aligns.
Love your collection man.... Keep the good work up... Cheers from India... Keep on rockin' 🤘🏼

I think that the Quad mix of dark side by Parsons is the best mix of that album ever.
👍

I have the Metallica Binge & Purge box set. It's still in good shape.

WOW, I have to get Def Leppard's Hysteria box set. Is there also a box set for Pyromania?
No not yet but I hope one happens in 2023 for the 40th anniversary.
