Mole skin tip...... We used mole skin during volleyball when we would get terrible blisters. So IF you already have a blister cut a hole into the center of your piece and put your mole skin on with the blister in the cut out hole. This way the sticky mole skin won't tear off the blister OR if the blister already popped and is raw the adhesive won't hurt it. The thickness of the surrounding moleskin should protect that injury. If it isn't thick enough put 2 layers of moleskin on to increase the thickness. Hope this helps!
It is also easier to cut round the corners of the moleskin and use a dart at each corner so it bends and fits certain areas better. With a rounded edge, the corners won’t lift up as easy.
We used to tell our camp kids to let us know when they even had a hot spot as their boots were almost always wet! Moleskin is almost like duct tape for all its uses.
Very good tip
Hiker and scout tip too just passed it on to my neighbor 9year old who just started pitching
That's what the US military does
Another use for water shoes is in the shower. If you have balance issues or if the shower gets rather slippy, they can give you so much better footing. This goes for hotels, cruises, even fitness facilities....
I use the door lock every time I travel solo. It just gives me piece of mind. I actually travel with two, in case I get a connecting room in a hotel.
Oh,That’s So SMART!
I Was actually feeling stupid for buying 2.
Now I Know that Was the Perfect thing to Do!!
20 years ago my husband and I walked across England. He, silly man, decided to wear new boots, as opposed to getting his broken boots resoled. We were walking an average of 18 miles a day, and by the end of day 3 his feet looked like minced meat. He put moleskin, pretty well everywhere, and we were able to finish the walk. Most incredible 2 weeks of my life. We walked 200+ mikes, climbed 10000+ feet and took zillions of pics. 14 days in England with only 4 hours of rain. We came back with suntans, never heard of in the UK.
Really enjoy following you. 👍🏻
I was in Ireland that year for 2 weeks for my brother in laws wedding. We had one day of rain. We also came back with a little sunburn!
Thanks for sharing this & thanks for your kind words. Glad you’re here :)
England is much smaller than I realized!
You should try Wellow compression socks. They're made of bamboo and keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Plus they're antimicrobial. Much better than any other compression socks I have had. I'll never buy another brand!
Thanks for sharing this!!
My new Wellows just arrived yesterday, and I already love them! I looked at other places that had Merino compression socks (Sockwell?), but the women's sizes only go up to 11 (BOOO!). Wellow has lots of fun prints for even my size 11.5 feet, and wide calf widths as well.
Do they come in wide calf sizes
Llana, thank you for all that you do! I, along with many others, appreciate all the tips you bring to your channel! 😉
lol thanks so much!
Moleskin! Old school for blister prevention! Love it when I camp/hike, travel walking days, etc. Great Stuff!
I never knew!!
My husband is retired US Army and they had 12 mile marches all the time. He always put mole skin on his ankles and under his toes before so he didn't get blisters. So when I buy a new pair of shoes I always use it until I get them broken in.
Great tip. 👍
I used Moleskin in high school, 1964 under majorette boots, the product was great.
I can’t believe I’m only learning about it now. It’s fabulous 👏
We've used moleskin for decades! Never leave home without it. 🙂 I even pre-cut a couple of pieces - around 1" x 2" with rounded edges - and carry them in my handbag.
So smart!
I have a huge roll so I cut several long strips that I can cut down.
Moleskin, either precut or the cool one you have, is a must for Disney!! A lifesaver for walking miles.
I could imagine! Thanks for sharing
The waist band would work for concerts or ballgames when purses aren't allowed.
Very true! Great for going to the gym or a run too
Great idea!
Will it be ok wearing through security?
Llana…you do not have to take the entire shampoo bars on your trips. You cut a section off and it’s even less to pack! I use Lush brand all the time. I found lightweight plastic containers on Amazon that are inexpensive to carry parts of these in …I’ll try to find the link!
Smart 👏
@@LifeWellCruised also kitsch does sell mini travel size cubes
We do the same thing with body soap - get nice goat’s milk or other soap and just cut off and take a piece
Matador has a great bag for packing them that allows them to dry inside the bag - no slimy bars!
Off topic but your dog is absolutely adorable!!!
Awe thanks so much! We think she likes being on camera now 😂
@@LifeWellCruised what breed is she or he? We lost our 11-year-old Malshi in December. It's so hard without her. 😢
I was going to write this too. So cute ❤
I had 2 small compression cubes I bought last year. Before our cruise last month, I bought a set with bigger compression cubes. I was nervous about wrinklingn so took my travel size bottle of Wrinkle Release, but didn't need it. My 3 dresses, tops and shorts were fine. I carefully folded and rolled everything.
Fantastic 👏
Shampoo and Conditioner Bar has been my go to when I travel. Not only because they’re convenient they also work well just like the regular liquid version. It’s so compact and last long as long as you dry them after used. I highly recommend this. I actually gave my friend a set during our travel and she was amazed how it made her hair soft and manageable.
I’m an old backpacker. I’ve carried and used moleskin for over 51 years. It’s a lifesaver!😍
I always look forward to your videos for must have cruise items. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t understand why I get so many Amazon packages after I watch one😂.
I LOVE my Eagle Creek packing folders, they're great for dresses, hubby's pants and shirts
Great to hear
Solid shampoos & conditioner are game-changers. I also make sure to purchase solid sunscreen, solid insect repellent & deodorant as well. I also pack solid blister protection.
I LOVE my Eagle Creek compression cubes. They are more expensive than the non-brand ones. But there is a huge difference in quality of nylon, zippers and construction. They are also much lighter than the non-brand ones.
Eagle creek is amazing! i found a small rolling bag years ago for a course I was taking for a year and it is an amazing bag! it still looks great. so when it came to compression packing cubes, i had to get Eagle creek!,
That’s interesting. I haven’t tried them yet
Years ago I switched from moleskin to duct tape. It protects against hot spots/blisters without the bulk. The smooth surface allows sock or shoe to slide smoothly.
Double socks gives you slip you need too. I was also taught not to put duct tape directly on your skin, by actually one of my campers, as it will tear skin off! I was taping an ankle so I just taped on top of a thin sock. Yes it left a bit of glue on the sock, but better than tearing my skin off. Of course, this was before someone decided to make cheaper duct tape that doesn’t really stick!
That's a good tip and occasionally, in desperate moments, I've used it in the past.
thank you for the remnder!!
Moleskin was my lifesaver to avoid blister with my military boots, so yes, it does work!
Have used mole skin and is lot better than a bandaid. But now like the BANDAID blister packs, for heel and for toe. They have something in them, and they really seal and pad the blister - puff up, and just leave on and on until it disappears. Was like a miracle first time I used.
Many years ago I booked a room in another state. Later that night, someone tried to open the door (that led to the outside) because the motel had booked the same room to two different people. Now I make sure the door doesn’t lead to the outside when I book a room. I think the lock is a must for all travelers, especially solo travelers
Wow, thanks for sharing
Thank you for your information shared. We were watching as a random search after dinner, my adult son and myself, and our ears picked up excitedly about the moleskin blister prevention tape. We have never heard of it. At the moment he is limping and hobbling with blisters from new shoes. Have paddeded and taped the blisters at present. I read some comments and was really taken by how many people have used it and know it's a great product. So off we go searching for it online. Thanks so much for sharing. It may change the way we now protect our feet with new shoes. Bandaids are not great, terribly fiddly and fall off.
Mole Skin is always a fantastic item. For people who are heavy I’d also recommend a product called glide. Glide helps lubricate your inner thighs so you don’t get chafed. I did buy magnetic wall hooks for my upcoming trip next week, great idea. Happy cruising.
We go to Disney a lot. I always carry mole skin. I have smaller pieces and 4x4 pieces. The smaller ones are great to carry in my day bag. Mole skin is great. I always have a hand held fan. Great to use at night too.
Moleskin has been a game changer for me. I have a bunion and shoes rub on the side of my foot, moleskin has prevented many a blister. Great for new shoes when then rub at first as well.
Love all the tips. Makes me more excited for my cruise when I see you posted!
So fun!! Glad you enjoy the videos & thanks for watching 😊
Your videos are always so helpful. I'm always adding items to my travel wish list. Thank you.
I put Dr. Schols gel inserts in my water shoes. They work great. Just take them out rinse the sand off and put back in.
great idea!
The handheld fan was a lifesaver when we had to be outside in the Texas heat all day a couple of years ago. Definitely works well. We've been using moleskin for years as we used to hike and run, it does the job of preventing blisters.
Great to know 👏
I started using moleskins some 40 years ago for when my husband I would go hiking. They're indispensable!
I also found compression LEGGINGS on Amazon that I bought when I was getting vein work done on my legs. They're still tight to put on but not as much of a struggle as full length compression stockings!!!
On the subject of solid shampoo and conditioner, I bought some about three weeks or so, but kept forgetting to try it. I finally tried it on Tuesday, and it really is a game changer! The convenience and portability is brilliant but I am SUPER impressed with how it lathered and how soft my hair was after it was dried! I'm sold!!!
Sounds like your experience was similar to mine 😊
for a fan, I prefer the USB mini fan for iphones. It is small fan that will fit in your bag or pocket and then you can plug it into the charging port of your phone and you have a great little fan.
Would never travel without the Moleskin that you can cut to what ever your need.
Iilana, you look great in every thing that you wear!! Thank you for all the tips and tricks
Planning ahead to my next cruise, which isn't until next year, I started trying solid bar shampoo. I actually am using a different brand than you mention because I need unscented and can't find unscented in their line,I love it. I have fine hair, and this shampoo gives a little body without my hair feeling dried out. I will be using it from now on as my everyday shampoo, not just for travel.
We always cruise with magnet hooks - what a great tip.
I always have moleskin. It’s a must have! Compression socks are so important for long flights. You don’t have to have issues to get a blot clot. I love my packing cubes!
Bought all your recommended items from
Amazon. Magnet holders are the best. The Amazon one inch c 10 inch rechargeable motion detector lights work great under the bath door to prevent tripping
First, great tips, thank you so much for introducing me to Moleskin! My husband and I have been taking dance lessons so we can cut a rug on the cruise ship for our upcoming Alaskan vacation, but I have blisters on my feet that are still heeling and I was worried about long days walking in the cruise ports. I’m not worried anymore :)
Second, you have the CUTEST puppy dog!!! ❤
Wonderful! Seems so many dancers use it 👏Lol thanks - we think Abby likes to be on camera now 😂
The one thing I missed on my last cruise was my bidet. I found a travel one on Amazon and tried it out at a hotel. It obviously wasn't as good, but definitely would bring on my next cruise. Loved most of your suggestions btw
Moleskin is a staple in my family, especially for Church, formal occasions and travel. Love the band, orderingnow! Thank You 😊
I am from Puerto Rico and and love your videos! ❤ Love all the tips! Thank you! 😊
That’s awesome! Glad you’re here 😊
I saw the same video and purchased the security lock and love it. Also purchased a very similar backpack in Target for $50.00 and it holds so much I used it for my Princess cruise to Alaska last month.
Hi
I always travel with the a wrist sleeve. It can hold cards, money, Great for airport, touring. I also use at gym. Thank u for all your wonderful tips.
We take water socks everywhere everywhere! We use them in the spa and thermal suite to wear even into it buffet etc
I love the Amazon Essentials mens quick dry and Water resistant shorts. Great for shore excursions if you might or will wet wet
Great ideas. I’m going on a solo cruise to the Mediterranean in two weeks. I am going to order the waist band and door lock! I didn’t think about the beaches being rocky so I will pack my water shoes! Thank you!
Thanks for editing in the shots of Santa Margherita, one of my favorite spots on the planet!
I took moleskin on a recent trip and it really came in handy when my husband got a blister. Also, I do have bar shampoo. The nice thing is that you can cut the bar into smaller pieces so you don't have to take the entire thing on a trip, and save some space.
When cutting the moleskin remember to round the corners to help to keep the edges from lifting or rolling. DO NOT PUT MOLESKIN ON TOP OF AN EXISTING BLISTER. Sorry for the emphasis here but it is super important so you don't tear off the "roof" of the existing blister. Cut the moleskin out in a donut type shape to accommodate the area of loose or separated skin where the bubble or pocket of the blister is. I know this sounds gross to some people but it is the difference between successful treatment and extended misery.
You’re right
Corn cushions come with the hole already and work too
We always travel with moleskin. It can save you when hiking or to protect your heels if your feet have gotten or might get wet. It really stays on.
Smart
I used the bar shampoo and conditioner on our last cruise and I LOVED it. Definitely a staple item now.
I learned about mole skin while in college 50 years ago from a girl in my dorm who was a ballet dancer. I found myself purchasing it about 3 years ago, but it was just a small package with 3 squares, each about 3"x 4 ". As far as the waistbelt, the first thing I thought was if it is RFID protected as further security for any credit cards. Thank you for showing the backpack as I was looking for something that was roomy and yet flexable. 👍
Love the dress! Classy and chic. So many ways you can dress it up or dress it down. Good choice!
I have used the same brand of tea tree shampoo bars and i absolutely love it. I didn’t however, enjoy the conditioner bar. For some reason, It left my fine hair limp and greasy. When i only used the shampoo bar, i got a great lather and my hair was so clean! I will have to maybe try a different conditioner bar to see if it was just that particular one
Never thought about the water shoes but will get some for next cruise.. thank you for your great ideas and tips. Like your videos. 🎉 Cruise on !
Great ideas! I used to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (39 miles over 2 days) and used moleskin the entire time. Definitely worth it!
Before you mentioned it, I was saying to myself "I love that outfit you are wearing." Very pretty.
Awe thanks ☺️
I use have been using the rice shampoo and conditioner for over a year. Game changer. I have struggled with eczema on my scalp off and on since I was in my teens. When I moved to the solid products, it cleared up and hasn't come back. I also use the conditioner as a face shaving lubricant. Works great. So, it replaced my shaving cream, too. Not only are these products superior, but cheaper than the products they replaced.
Wow! Thanks for sharing
Love the soft waist band. The solid shampoo and Conditioner look solid. I love Moleskin, it is fabulous. I used the compression socks when I went to Alaska. They were amazing. BE WARNED I have that backpack. Yes it has a ton of room but gets so heavy that I was in agony!!! 😢 Instead I have ordered a small TravelPro bag which has wheels. Do those sandals have cushioning. I almost lost one of my air tags because it was loose. I ordered the tags into which I can insert them.
Love the portable fan and travel backpack my favorite items OBSESSED 🌸🌸💛💛🌸💕🌾💙🌻❣️💙💙💚❤️❤️🌞💙💞💙💕💕🌸💜💛💛💛💕💕💕💜❣️🌞❤️🧡💚🪷🌼🌈🌹🌺🌺🌊🌊🌊🪻🪻💙
You had the luggage bungee before. I love it!!! Thanks for your Amazon tips. Going Amazon shopping now. 🙂
LOVE the rice conditioner and their purple shampoo for blondes and gray hair. Kitsch also has a travel case For the bars! All are going with me on next cruise
Love the Kitsch shampoo and conditioner bars. I use them all the time.
Magnet hooks are the best and flat led rechargeable motion lights under bathroom door prevents tripping
4:19
Yep I tried the sampler of the kitsch bars. I just ordered their volumizing bars.
Love the kitsch rice shampoo bar!! I’m even seeing regrowth of my hair in addition to it being easy to travel with. I’m not as big of a fan of the conditioner bar because my hair is really long but I am taking it on my cruise this month. Also bought the suitcase backpack and it looks like it will work well! Thanks for all your videos, I’m binging them before my cruise.
I think i wil be getting the waist band i like that idea. The portable lock we have used it for over 15 years at home for extra security. Love your videos can't wait for the next one😊
That's a great idea! I truthfully wouldn’t bring it on a cruise, but I would use it at hotels & I can see the usage at home too. So simple & yet so smart
I like the thin mole skin, it’s better for walking any distance and better than bandaids
I’ve been using Lush brand bar shampoo and conditioner for years for travel. They make a variety for different hair needs so you will find one good for your hair. I also use their soaps as well, they are so yummy I’ve stopped using shower gel even at home. I also always have a bit of moleskin in my bag to cut to size. Best thing to prevent blisters or deal with a sore spot from too much walking.
Your dog is adorable!😊
I'm a fan of the compression bags!! We've got an upcoming trip very soon, and we'll be gone for 17 days, at both a cruise and a family trip, so differing kinds of clothes are necessary. Because we'll have 4 people in one compact SUV, we can't carry excessive luggage... voila! Compression cubes to the rescue!
I love shampoo bars/ conditioner. The brand I like is Viori. I also put them in a web sack to hang in the shower. The body bar is like a loufa.
We cruise to the Caribbean in July so my handheld fan is an absolute must for me!
The solid bar shampoo & conditioner last a long time
My collage room mate introduced me to mole skin in 1982. I have used it since then. It's in my travel first aid kit. I also have it in my locker at work.
Mole skin is the best! Even if you already have blisters it’s a game changer
I have used shampoo and conditioner bars for a few years and love them. I bought mine on another site, Grove Collaborative, and I save them for traveling. So nice for the carryons.
My two adult sons use that backpack on shorter cruises since they usually fly budget airlines in Europe. They say it works great.
Btw, your hair colour is gorgeous!🥰
Lush is another brand of shampoo and conditioner bars. They are often sold in malls as well as online.
I’ve used Moleskin before and it works like a champ. I prefer the type that has to be cut to size.
Love the shampoo bars and shave bars and you can put them in cheap travel boxes. I also like that brand.
Ilana, I’ve been using shampoo and conditioner bars for years and love them. They’re not all created equal, so you may need to try a few different brands before you find one that works for your hair. I do like the Kitsch brand but found that after about 3 weeks, the shampoo bar “dries out” and gets cracks in it, making it difficult to rub into your hair.
I use the basin solid shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo works great. Conditioner ok but definitely saves on the liquids
Twenty years in the U.S. Army I am very familiar with Moleskin. on our last cruise my Wife bought some beautiful shoes that she just adored but they rubbed blisters on her heals, rather than toss them I put the Moleskins on. We now have them in our first aid kit.
Yes….Moleskin works! In a pinch you can cut it with nail clippers
I’ve been using the solid shampoo and conditioner for several months now. It’s a game changer, even at home! Love traveling with it, and they have a great case for travel.
I’m going to have to look for that
If you like solid shampoo, consider Dr. Bronner’s bar soap. I have used this for years and love this. If you use it, you will think it will leave your hair dried out, but it doesn’t. Once it dries, you will be happy with how soft and shiny your hair is. It’s good body soap as well, and far cheaper than most solid shampoo bars. One benefit of the peppermint scented soap is that it gets rid of the chlorine smell in your hair.
I finally tried the bar shampoo and I fell in love with it.❤
Now I always bring the pre-cut moleskin strips because I'm not used to wearing my dress shoes much anymore, so I always get a blister on cruises when I wear them in the evening! They are great and you can get them in black also so that they don't show with your black dress shoes.
I have been using the conditioner bar for a few years, love it! Love your videos!
I love that waistband!! Also the moleskin is a great idea! Thanks for sharing
So glad to know your experience 👏
Moleskin has been a go-to product for foot care for decades, for pilgrims walking the Camino in Europe.
Amazing 👏
I have a bad bunion and have used moleskin for years to pad it when it flares up. So much better than bandaids!
I will definitely try Mole skin as I do get blister when wearing certain shoes. I also made a travel backpack in canvas very similar to the one in our video so I can use it on my Alaskan cruise. 😊
We just returned from 2 weeks in Europe. Thank goodness I packed moleskin. It worked wonders on my feet! I will always pack moleskin in the future!
I’ve used the purple Kitsch shampoo & conditioner bars and they are incredible. They’re so good I use them at home now too!
Great to know 😊
