- Presenting you the beautiful winter Trek and world's highest Shiva Temple located in Garhwal Himalayas - Tungnath-Chandrashila Trek. It was weekend trip in mid march, here I will be covering the whole route from Rishikesh to Chopta and trek from Chopta to Chandrashila Peak via Tungnath Mahadev Temple.

People actually underestimate the Chandrashila Trek. Though just 1 KM, it is a dangerous trek especially when there is snow or frozen slippery water on the trek route. But the view is worth every risk !

We loved your narration..we visited 15 days back ..off course on horse upto tungnath...lovely view of peaks meadows...as were 60 yrs and not v fit we didn't attempt chandrashila peak...but had great divine darshan Pooja etc...now with your video we are determined to make ourselves fit and come in mid March for this with our family preferably...thanks 🙏

I have completed it on 19th March 2024..
It was totally snow covered and most of our team mates can't go there..
And it was too risky..

man i can die for this view i m so unlucky in august 31 me and my friends visited uttrakhand kedarnath temple my plan was to trek to Chandrashilla and tungnath temple but somehow we crossed the way and moved many miles further and we decided to visit tungnath after Badrinath temple but sadly we not managed to visit tungnath seriously what i missed i realised now nevertheless ill visit chandrashila during march april month next year. Jai bholenath har har mahadev.

Cab drivers Name and Number is mentioned in the video details. From Rishikesh it will take around 8.5k to 9k.
We did this trip in last of February in 9k from Delhi to chopta, including Auli as well😎

Usually 7 - 8 hours for up and down, rest depends on every individual pace n fitness.

Temple will be closed but trek is always only closed during heavy snowfall when path is not clear so avoid Jan to mid Feb. Best time would be mid Feb to First week of March

I stayed in Baniyakund, it was some Himalayan camp. A lot of camps are there at Baniyakund.

Hey Utkarsh, this entire thing can be completed in two days if I start from Rishikesh on Day 1 right? Please reply soon
Yes, you need to leave early from Rishikesh, sleep early in evening at chopta. Start the trek early morning around 3 AM if you know the trail and its clear and watch sunrise from the Top, spend some time and you can descend back by 11 and leave back to Rishikesh.

There are many camps in chopta. I stayed in Baniyakund, there are many camps available. All are almost same, you can book anyone of them.

With clear weather, Mountains peaks will be the same but with less snow.

Please check it on google about current guidelines. I went there in Mid march and guidelines changes every other week.

Sari to Chandrashila, no idea about that because trekking companies take you to long trail from sari to rohini bugyal n then chandrashila. I did it solo directly from Chopta, so yes there was on n off network through out the trail on this portion of trek.
Please share the cab fare from rishikesh to rishikesh via chopta, tungnath & sari village.
