I use Surveillance on The Knight and it works really well since it also triggers when your friend (or a guard, if you use lame terminology) kicks a gen. Very useful with a 3-gen and is like a weaker version of Skull Merchant’s drones. It lets you know when to send a friend over to the gen, too.

I think an interesting change for Hangman’s Trick is by giving a similar treatment that Monstrous Shrine got, which is by making it a scourge hook perk. However, in this case, Hangman’s Trick would simply be made into a scourge hook related perk. What do I mean by this? Basically I think these effects should be added to the perk: Scourge hooks are not destroyed when a survivor is sacrificed on them and scourge hooks respawn 15 seconds quicker when sabotaged. I’ve always felt as if there should be a perk that buffs scourge hooks themselves and due to Hangman’s Trick being a perk about countering hook sabo’s, it feels like the perfect candidate for this. Obviously there should be more effects added and changed to make Hangman’s a perk that counters sabo’s as a whole, but I still think scourge hooks not being destroyed by sacrifices would seem like a real nice quality of life effect for this perk.
The majority of the issues regarding most perks being basically miniscule in effect, is because they chained themselves to a heavy ball named Nurse. If they never made nurse, i feel like perks would have larger variety and not so much minor stat changes or goofy interactions. (There's still some unique perks thankfully, and at least survivors get to have whacky perks and useful ones, especially with the Nicholas Cage perks coming in.)
Hangman's trick should increase movement speed when survivors are near the hook to at least help prevent a sabotage. Maybe it could also expose the survivor but maybe that's overkill It should be regardless of if a survivor is actually sabotaging or not, because many survivors tend to bodly block killers near a hook or hide extremely close by for an easy rescue
I think the MYC buff be to start the exposed when they start the sabo, like retribution with totems. Many survivors take a hit and then sabo in the weapon cool-down so having it like this would counter that
Tbh I've actually discovered a good use of hangman's trick. The new killer, the singularity, actually has MASSIVE value from knowing random information to get nice shots
Surveillance with Oppression is rather fun, as if the survivors aren’t on the gens at the time, you get to see which ones have progress, works well with Jolt/Surge too to see if someone’s at those nearby gens
In fact… Surveillance, Oppression, Discordance and Hex: Blood Favour is my build for Spirit, who’s one of my 3 mains, the other 2 being Demo and Dredge
i quite like the first proposals for both Surveilance and MYC. Ive now find it odd that Discordance has the loud notif but Surveilance doesnt and it would help a lot more in gen kicking builds now that the CoB + Eruption combo is dead. And even though i do consider MYC to be quite balanced, i love perks that manipulate who is the Obsession as a Dark Devotion enjoyer Edit: spelling mistakes
I think a good buff for hangmans trick would be something like when a survivor sabotages a hook they lose a health state since people are punished by not playing by the rules but will put deep wound like the skill check Add ons on the boxes and it could slow down sabo or increases number of scourge hooks since Amanda’s games are rigged
Hey, new viewer here. I like the systematic approach you've taken to this buffing process, I think you've made good points about what problems the perks face and what it would take to change them. That said, I'm heavily opposed to some of the proposed changes you've offered and would like to express why. To begin, I think the Surveilance buff is a good QOL change. Good stuff there. But I do have issues with Hangman's Trick and Make Your Choice. For HT, looking at a future with 12 meters of aura reading is overcentralizing it reminds me of that PTB where the perk acted like a better BBQ&C because the hooks covered so much common ground used by survivors. And even if you did add a range limit, Awakened Awareness would do what HT does better. The aura reading needs to be scrapped at this point, it's got too much overlap with other perks. My personal thoughts are to rework it to something away from Sabo, there are better perks for that. As for the other perk in question, I'm not a fan of giving the obsession change to MYC. Beyond having to rework Furtive Chase and annoying synergies like with PWYF, it also isn't addressing the biggest flaw, people just hide from it. The proposed change is a QOL update with a couple drawbacks, but if you'd wanted to make the perk more usable for M1 killers, they need usable information. Something as simple as showing the unhooker's aura for 4 seconds would be enough to consider chasing a new survivor or recapturing the hooked one. I liked your video and it's concept, but I think you're overshooting some of these buffs and there's a lot of implications for well-meaning changes. That's my thoughts on the matter at least. Would like to hear your thoughts
Honestly, the only reason I have not talked about the Universal perks is because of how many there are, and that there are no good quality icons to use, because DBD Wiki, which is where I used to get perk icons, now uses gifs, and it destroys me
I was thinking for Surveillance, something small that could also increase its viability while addressing a problem you addressed in the video- If a survivor taps a generator to stop it from regressing, it should change colors, provide a sound notification, and then provide another sound notification and color change when the survivor stops repairing it within that sixteen second window Would love to hear thoughts on that change
MyC is fine, surveillance could use a small buff like change the color of the gen from yellow to red when a someone just taps a gen and back to yellow when someone starts working on it again for a set cooldown. And imo revert hangmans trick back into a hook respawn perk so more territory based killers have a better time
Ngl, even with the upcoming rework i feel so bad for the perk hangman's trick that i think they should just full on rework it to be an offensive scourge perk. My idea would be this. Scourge: Hangman's trick: (generic 4 scourge hooks text). When a survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook while the killer is *X* distance away, the hook breaks damaging the unhooker if healthy and inflicting deep wounds if they are already injured. Scourge hooks respawn after breaking after *X* amount of time.
surveillance is honest an underated perk on blight, wesker, nurse, sadako and dredge, where its super easy to make use of the info it gives you. its a shame its such a niche perk
It doesn't solve the overall issue of MYC, but something that could Maybe help a little bit: use MYC with I think Furitive Chase? The Ghostie perk that makes whoever unhooks someone become the obsession. Granted, it'll still be a bit difficult to tell who's who if they all look the same, but seeing the obsession change could provide a slight edge in getting MYC value. Edit: and he suggested just making that synergy base kit LOL. I guess it makes sense, but yknow. I guess if they ever decide to rework it, they could consider that
reminder dude the ptb where hangmans was changed to a aura read while carrying survivors it was first 16 meters but then nerfed to 6 when 8 would be fine (also a major issue with the perk is you have to Look for the survivors while carring someone who is actively trying to escape you)
I actually never knew about this PTB change for Hangman’s Trick. I am mostly newish, starting around the Trickster teasers, but I always watched content of the game since launch, so thank you for letting me know
I think I may have used make your choice in a basement demogorgon build once and that’s it. I don’t think I have ever used the pigs other perks in a build.
Ironically surveillance is one of my favorite tracking perks, for its consistency. Combined with jolt or nowhere to hide (or both) it's a reliable way to know if someone has touched the gens you have damaged. The extra sound is also nice. Make your choice/ floods of rage is also my go to build for Dredge. Hangmans trick is genuinely just terrible though
I'd love hangman's trick just to be able to hook someone without a hook where a hook was sabotaged or gone from a kill maybe once per trial or something
Here's how I would rework the Pig's perks. Hangman’s Trick is now *Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick* At the start of the Trial, 4 random hooks are changed into scourge hooks. You see their auras in white. Any time a Survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook and fully healed, this perk activates. The next time the Survivor fails a generator repair skill check, the generator loses an additional 15% of its current progress. Any survivors repairing the generator when it explodes are injured and suffer the Broken status effect for 20/25/30 seconds. Scourge Hook: Hangman’s Trick will deactivate once the unhooked Survivor is injured again. *NEW* Surveillance Rework Unlocks potential in one’s aura reading ability. Any regressing generator will be highlighted by a white aura. Gain 1 token for each affected generator. Each token increases the regression speed of all generators by 3/4/5%. Noises created by generator repairs are audible at an additional 10 meters. *NEW* Make Your Choice Rework When a Survivor rescues another from a hook at least 32 meters away, Make Your Choice causes the survivor to scream and applies the Exposed status effect for 30/45/60 seconds. Standing at least 32 meters away from a hooked survivor hides their aura to injured, dying, or hooked survivors. Make Your Choice has a cooldown of 30/45/60 seconds.
As someone who loves using MYC, another thing that would be nice is if each tier of it only decreased the cooldown, instead of also decreasing the exposed duration. Right now it might be the only perk that gets worse as you level it.
I suspect their reason for the longer timer is because of the longer expose, where they wanted to tie the timer and duration together. I do see your view however, and reducing the cooldown may be a nice idea
@@silencedhero7953 Reading your reply made me realize I completely misremembered how it leveled, despite using it pretty often lol. Still yeah, it always feels nicer for each tier to feel like an upgrade rather than a tradeoff, and would make the perk feel just a touch more consistent.
@@verygayowl4199 I will admit I also love Make Your Choice on many of the killers I mentioned, with my Spirit and Dredge builds always having it built in somewhere.
Fix for hangmans trick if a player moves within 3 meters of a scourge hook while a survivor is being carried within 13 meters of the hook the hook strikes the player inflicting injury. This also counters some body blocking tricks.
For these perks, Dredge actually uses them quite well (besides hangman's trick). Jolt and Surveillance work very well, and teleporting to lockers make activating Make Your Choice very easy.
I love make your choice, I use it exclusively with killers that have movement. But its very hard to get back to the exposed survivors so its understandable why people dont use it. Also its very likely people are going to accuse you of tunneling
In Dbd mobile hangmans' trick is even more usless because The Spider hook decoration add on has a similar effect and it doesnt even take up a perk slot
In my opinion the best perk which is MYC, can be coupled with Floods scourge and Lethal pursuit to get a good read on the unhookers so it doesn't really need a buff from what i can see
18:27 also Demogorgon. Put down a portal at the top of the basement, go 40 meters away with another portal, and they can't get out of the basement. Bonus points for stbfl so you can also make the unhooked person mend or possibly die
MyC actually would get a good synergy in turn for changing obsession! using nemesis + furtive + MyC makes the survivor oblivious AND exposed, which is a rare use of Nemesis
A bit late to the party here, but with regards to "Make your Choice" - I use it with Reverse Hillbilly (Speed Limiter with Make Your Choice and Furtive Chase). The person who unhooks automatically becomes the obsession. The trouble is that you can only hook the obsession in the first place. Suffice to say, it's a meme build. I've never used "Surveillance" since getting Adept Pig, so I have no idea about this one. As for "Hangman's Trick", I actually have used it a few times at very high ranks, the reason being that (at least the last time I got to Rank 1, when that was still a thing) sabo squads were absolutely rife. I expect there's still plenty out there considering how oppressive the playstyle can be. I'd never use it at low ranks though.
I like your ideas for surveillance and hangman's but as for make your choice, what if it also applied Broken I find that a common weakness of exposed perks in general is that they don't do much against injured survivors, so giving myc a broken effect would steer it away from the other exposed perks also as for the Obsession mechanic you mentioned, it reminded me of Furitive Chase and I would like to see a video on that too
I think now, with the strongest perks having been nerfed to be on par with many of the others, all BHVR really has to do is buff the super weak, useless perks, then the meta can be really diverse.
Hangman's Trick could pasue a wiggle timer for like 5 seconds if hook nearby got sabotaged, that would force saboteur to take protection hit or allow killer to try to get to next hook (unless they were already at no time to hook or were going for specific scourge hook, but that usually means killer greeded it). Also, sabotaging is not that popular, because it doesn't give that much, unless someone is tunneled or would otherwise die. Since after sabotaging killer just proceeds to drop the surv, slugging them and then focus on trying to down saboteur (which usually can backfire hard if before sabotaging 3 survs took protection hits). Giving that 5 seconds (or more, or less, I don't know timing) to Hangman's Trick would nudge the killer to try to get to other hook instead of just dropping the surv. I would also make sabotagin more useful for survivors, since it also would (hopefully) prevent slugging under broken hook. Also, Surveillence is nice on only one killer from what I'm aware - the Knight, since he can kick gens/shoo survivors from far away, meaning he can control those yellow gens. Other killers rarely see worth in following the yellow gen trial, since like you said, you don't know if someone is still there, it's better for them to just take another perk and look for survs normally. Also, it's funny how Skull Merchant and Singularity have basically better version of that perk in their kit.
Make your choice, furtive chase, nemesis and game afoot. Game afoot makes the most chased survivor the obsession, you hook them they get unhooked after you get away far enough, nemesis kicks in during the scream, you see them for 4 seconds, close in, they are also oblivious for 60 seconds from nemesis, come up to them, they dont hear you coming, smack and down they go lol.
I have 1 vivid memoy with old hangmans. 4 stack swf was running a sabo build and on on down the hook got broken right in my face. The others then body blocked me in an attempt to stop ke from going to another hook. Instead i just sat there and patiently waited for the hook to come back and put the guy on
A cool change that they could make for Make Your Choice is that it has a unique bonus feature that only works on the Pig where if a survivor has a trap on (active or inactive) and they rescue someone from the hook it reduces their max timer by 15-20 seconds. I just feel like some perks should have bonus features that only work on the killer they belong to.
The idea for perks to have added benefits for their respective killers are cute, but that buff for pig is beyond evil. Some of Pigs greatest add-ons are bag and crate of gears, increasing the time to search, and Tempered Timer is another story. If pig gets any changes, they should be for ambush, because the traps can be extremely lethal if you know which boxes they need to still search.
I didn't know they nerf hangman's teick to the ground. What it use to do was make hooks that were sabotaged to come back and hooks that survivors were sacrificed to respawn
I feel like all of these are just a product of their time. Relics. I remember when these perks were introduced and they were basically meant to hard counter the survivor meta at the time. Well now the meta has changed and these perks havn't really caught up
Surviellance with a few other perks can make for some good, well, surviellance. Twin's "Oppresion" perk can lead to getting info on gens in the boonies if left alone, and potentially exploding if the survivor isn't ready for the skillcheck. Make your choice is neat at least, and uh, hangmans is... Yeah it's unsalvagable in it's current state.
Actually I use the gen perks relatively often. If you combine it with gen kick perks you not only know where the highest gen is but also if people are working in it if it changes colour. Also works pretty well without the kick perk to se when they return to a previously kicked gen. I love that perk!
I think make your choice should have its range requirement reduced to 28 meters, this won't be a big enough difference to cause killers like blight and spirit to get much more value than they already do but it will drastically help lower teir killers who don't have the mobility to quickly get value. Also I think if you are more than double the range requirement of 28 meters away from the hooked survivor you will get a 10% haste effect for like 12 seconds or something and will see the unhookers aura for 4 seconds, this way if your on larger maps like red forest or crows you can still have a chance to get value where you would have normally just had a wasted perk slot. If this change proves too strong the numbers could be tweaked but i don't think the perk should be limited too much just because killers like blight exist, instead you should focus on making it easier to get value on lower killers and if it's too strong on blight teir killers either slightly tweak the numbers or rework those killers to not be quite as busted/ have less synergy with this type of perks like they did with nurse. As for hangman trick I think on top of your suggestions it would be a good idea for it to also increase the time it takes to Sabo a hook, maybe like an extra 20% or so.
This is a really nice buff concept, and sometimes, I want to go with bigger buff concepts to perks. This however ends up being hard purely because Nurse and Blight are the way they are.
@@silencedhero7953 well since nurse blink attacks no longer work with exposed perks there's no reason besides blight and maybe spirit to go all out when reworking/ buffing basic attack focused perks
Okay So i just had a radical crazy idea for a hangmans trick rework. Make it a scourge hook and now after hooking a survivor the sacrifice timer moves like 25 percent faster with the downside of being a 50 50 chance for the survivor to escape on the first try if they fail however it boost to a much faster progression but if they succeed the hook breaks after escaping for 16 seconds.
Hangman's trick could also let you see survivors within 6 meters of a hook indefinitely or make the sabotage action 50% slower, but those changes would be risky.
I think permanent aura reading for survivors near hooks would be a fun change for the perk, maybe you can make the range slightly smaller and then make it grow back to it's normal range when carrying a survivor,

Just wanted to mention I think your editing is lovely! Keep up the good work, and don’t be self conscious! You’re a really good TH-camr!
Make your Choice idea: Current effects stays. Unhooker becomes the obsession. If Unhooker is already the obsesion They get hit with Hindered during the effect (option a) or they get their aura revealed by a short window (option b)
Idk about the rest of you, but that tip for not editing while hungry, was probably the most helpful tip in this video
I mainly included it as a joke, but I was having dinner while editing the video
@@silencedhero7953 lol i was wondering what i wanted to eat when i was watching this and found it quite funny, happy you had food while editing and wernt just sitting there thinking of it in hunger
Make your choice was good until it got power crept by just better perks. But it is still viable for hit and run killers rn. Singularity might be able to make great use of it. But her other perks are just too iffy to be used over other ones
ik ik but make your choice is actually a pretty good perk for the new killer, and anyone that can really "teleport"
I started playing Skull Merchant and realized how counterable she is yet oppressive due to lacking knowledge so much better than originally thought
your video production quality is amazing i’m so surprised that you havent gotten more attention to your videos. your attention to detail and interaction with the community is impressive and i hope to see your channel flourish because your content is amazing
hi, I actually forgot I've seen your Haddie's perks video lol, you earned a sub, keep going with this serie, you'll go far!
tbh make your choice territorial imperative agitation and iron grasp on demo is strong espatily when you get the survivors in basement my fave demo build
imo surveillances issue is that call of brine is basically a better surveillance it lets you know when a survivor is working on it plus gives some regression
Nurse honestly has been ruining the game since her creation. She just doesn't work in the game at all.
change for hangmans trick: u now have 8 scourge hooks instead of 4, and the original effect is still in play
Interesting, and with Morbius Shrine, it is 12 scourge hooks
make your choice and surveillance are literally my favorite perks lmao, i still use the jolt survaliance combo
actually as a dredge main surveillance (with jolt or ruin) and make your choice are actually good perkes lmao
Hangman's trick should increase movement speed when survivors are near the hook to at least help prevent a sabotage. Maybe it could also expose the survivor but maybe that's overkill
It should be regardless of if a survivor is actually sabotaging or not, because many survivors tend to bodly block killers near a hook or hide extremely close by for an easy rescue
Hangmans trick: you can see survivors within 6m of a hook, or 9m while carrying a survivor
The mr. burns ketchup clip killed me
I think the MYC buff be to start the exposed when they start the sabo, like retribution with totems.
In fact… Surveillance, Oppression, Discordance and Hex: Blood Favour is my build for Spirit, who’s one of my 3 mains, the other 2 being Demo and Dredge
i think hangman's trick should be a "stronger hooks" sort of effect. keep the aura read +longer sabos +maybe longer unhooking?
i quite like the first proposals for both Surveilance and MYC. Ive now find it odd that Discordance has the loud notif but Surveilance doesnt and it would help a lot more in gen kicking builds now that the CoB + Eruption combo is dead. And even though i do consider MYC to be quite balanced, i love perks that manipulate who is the Obsession as a Dark Devotion enjoyer
Edit: spelling mistakes
You can make a why no one uses for universal perks like deja vu AFTER you take your well earned break
Honestly, the only reason I have not talked about the Universal perks is because of how many there are, and that there are no good quality icons to use, because DBD Wiki, which is where I used to get perk icons, now uses gifs, and it destroys me
I use Surveillance and Discordance both. I always know whenever they're on gens as long as I'm kicking them. If they turn yellow then i go to the gen.
i love ur vids , you are a diamond in the rough.. more people need to see your videos!!! keep up the great work man
Many thanks, that is very nice to hear
I was thinking for Surveillance, something small that could also increase its viability while addressing a problem you addressed in the video-
If a survivor taps a generator to stop it from regressing, it should change colors, provide a sound notification, and then provide another sound notification and color change when the survivor stops repairing it within that sixteen second window
Would love to hear thoughts on that change
Hangman’s trick is a cool concept, but awakened awareness exists
I had to cheese so hard to get her adept. I used a Midwitch offering, the Video tape and Exhausted addon to get it.
I use make ur choise on dredge with floods of rage. Scary combo
I use servalince every match
Another Skull Merchant main? Alright I’m subscribing
surveillance is honest an underated perk on blight, wesker, nurse, sadako and dredge, where its super easy to make use of the info it gives you. its a shame its such a niche perk
I haven’t even played this game in so long but I really enjoyed this video keep it up king
I guess if they ever decide to rework it, they could consider that
I feel bad for Furtive Chase, but man that thing cannot be saved, even from Mikaela's dark arts
I use surveillance +ruin still and make your choice is really good for spirit. I still find those two perks viable
reminder dude the ptb where hangmans was changed to a aura read while carrying survivors it was first 16 meters but then nerfed to 6 when 8 would be fine (also a major issue with the perk is you have to Look for the survivors while carring someone who is actively trying to escape you)
I actually never knew about this PTB change for Hangman’s Trick. I am mostly newish, starting around the Trickster teasers, but I always watched content of the game since launch, so thank you for letting me know
@@silencedhero7953 always happy to share knowledge to newer players makes me feel like a eldritch lore keeper
I love surveillance, i just has to stop using it for lightborn since so many people use them now
I think I may have used make your choice in a basement demogorgon build once and that’s it.
Hangman’s Trick is now *Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick*
At the start of the Trial, 4 random hooks are changed into scourge hooks.
*NEW* Surveillance Rework
Unlocks potential in one’s aura reading ability. Any regressing generator will be highlighted by a white aura.
Gain 1 token for each affected generator. Each token increases the regression speed of all generators by 3/4/5%.
Noises created by generator repairs are audible at an additional 10 meters.
*NEW* Make Your Choice Rework
When a Survivor rescues another from a hook at least 32 meters away, Make Your Choice causes the survivor to scream and applies the Exposed status effect for 30/45/60 seconds.
Standing at least 32 meters away from a hooked survivor hides their aura to injured, dying, or hooked survivors.
Make Your Choice has a cooldown of 30/45/60 seconds.
Hangman's was a god tier perk when they first changed it...
I think hangman’s should work a bit like bloody coil where if sabotaging a hook within a certain range of the killer will hurt the survivor.
MYC with wraith is so great i love it
I love make your choice, I use it exclusively with killers that have movement. But its very hard to get back to the exposed survivors so its understandable why people dont use it. Also its very likely people are going to accuse you of tunneling
In Dbd mobile hangmans' trick is even more usless because The Spider hook decoration add on has a similar effect and it doesnt even take up a perk slot
im a big Surveillance fan
In my opinion the best perk which is MYC, can be coupled with Floods scourge and Lethal pursuit to get a good read on the unhookers so it doesn't really need a buff from what i can see
I can see make your choice being a top tier pick on Singularity once he drops.
Make your choice isn't bad there's just so much more consistent insta down perks feels bad
just started playing pig and MYC has helped me more often than not
A bit late to the party here, but with regards to "Make your Choice" - I use it with Reverse Hillbilly (Speed Limiter with Make Your Choice and Furtive Chase).
This is so well said 😂I am one of the 2 pig mains in dbd rn and this was fun to watch
Great to hear, I am glad I was able to give Miss Piggy some justice with her perks
I like your ideas for surveillance and hangman's but as for make your choice, what if it also applied Broken
I find that a common weakness of exposed perks in general is that they don't do much against injured survivors, so giving myc a broken effect would steer it away from the other exposed perks
also as for the Obsession mechanic you mentioned, it reminded me of Furitive Chase and I would like to see a video on that too
Do not worry, we will get to that perk. Just another of the 1000 perks I gotta cover
2:18 skull merchant artist are ducking cool and I will die on this hill
They are cool, I have no reason to argue against it
Make your choice, furtive chase, nemesis and game afoot.
Me, who cannot run a build with surveillance :
😁
I have 1 vivid memoy with old hangmans. 4 stack swf was running a sabo build and on on down the hook got broken right in my face. The others then body blocked me in an attempt to stop ke from going to another hook. Instead i just sat there and patiently waited for the hook to come back and put the guy on
Surveillance is particularly good on knight and Myc is good on demo also.
You should make a video that: "Why no one use Freddy Krueger perks", they are very situnational and worse than pig perks
Make your choice use to be good on a lot of "exposed" build, but since the "3D sound" change thingy, it became quite useless
BHVR did revert the 3D sound changes, so Make Your Choice is back on the menu
I didn't know they nerf hangman's teick to the ground. What it use to do was make hooks that were sabotaged to come back and hooks that survivors were sacrificed to respawn
I feel like all of these are just a product of their time. Relics. I remember when these perks were introduced and they were basically meant to hard counter the survivor meta at the time. Well now the meta has changed and these perks havn't really caught up
Give us back hooks that return after sacrifice and we will use Hangman's :)
came from the future to say: you almost got it with the Mikaela option
or make your choice can inflict broken for the duration and then heal the survivor back to full when it ends
I discuss Surveillance’s high combo potential in the video, I could have expanded on that idea, but I did not want the video to be too lengthy

Awesome video!!!!!! Your content is honestly top tier and unique
