    STORY:
BIO - Harry Houdini was an escape artist, illusionist, and stunt performer, noted for his escape acts. His pseudonym is a reference to his spiritual master, French magician Robert-Houdin.
    * MUSIC (at the ending):
I decided to close this episode with the haunting and romantic rendition of "ROSABELLE BELIEVE"; paying respects to the couple's intimate secret death code; that favorite song of Harry's wife Bess Rahner Houdini. Since we were unable to obtain copyright permission to use, we had turned off our monetization option (money) and all proceeds from this episode will go directly from TH-cam to the song's copyright holder.
That's just OK. It's all worth it - for our viewers.
    Enjoy.

IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.

I grew up on Jamaica Avenue about 10 minutes from Houdini's grave. And when we were kids, the urban legend was that he was going to come back one day on Halloween night. So lots of times in the 1970s teenagers would hold seances at the grave sight. I will definitely be watching Ron tonight to see what story he tells about this. My family still lives in Ridgewood, I will have to tell them to watch.

Wonderful walk through this amazing old cemetery I could spend hours reading headstones. I always thought Harry Houdini had a "gift" he was a true artist. He died so young Oct. 31, 1926 death is a sure thing. His burial place is lovely; sad that his wife Wilhelmina Beatrice "Bess" was buried at Gate of Heaven, N.Y. and not with Houdini. Theirs was a true love story. Bess died at 67 on board a train from Los Angeles bound to New York City just like you said Ron of a heart attack. Rest in Peace Harry and Bess Houdini.

He was such a fascinating man, and I'm glad that he is still fondly remembered even by the new generations that have come along since his death. It does make me sad though that his lovely wife was not buried with him. No matter what religion each were, her family should've let them be reunited in death.

I was laid over in Dallas Texas, back in 1990. I bobtailed to a shopping mall to spend a bit of time and money.
I was taking a break on a bench beside a fountain. Just then. A very old man and woman approached me. He introduced himself and his wife. I wasn't familiar with the name. He clarified by telling me that I know him as the Great Houdini. He claimed he was 102 years old and his wife was 97.
I went along with his story, there was no appearant harm. He proceeded to show me about a dozen magic tricks with rope, cards and coins. It was quite a show. We talked for about an hour.
IDK. I'd like to think he was Houdini. At least in spirit.
He was an awesome magician, worthy of associating with the Great Houdini.

I have always been told that if you want to know how a man will treat you then watch how he treats his Mom. He must have been the most loving man by his treatment of his Mother. Bess was a lucky woman in that respect. It is a shame that they aren't buried together. I am sure they are together in Heaven though.

I've always been fascinated by Harry Houdini and Magicians, mind readers and mediums in the Vaudeville era as well. I wish I knew you would be in the New York area, I have an addendum to this video. Houdini was friends with a gentleman named "Washington Irving Bishop" who was a mind reader/mentalist. He had a very unique medical condition, suffering from cataleptic fits. He would just out of nowhere lose consciousness and give off the appearance that he was dead. He carried a note on his person to inform medical personnel that he suffered from this condition and not to bury him prematurely. The story is a lot more involved and no, he was not buried alive but died unjustly anyway. I would be happy to send you some information on him if you like? He is buried in Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn New York. Wonderful video as always Ron!

Harry Houdini. What a life and what a great guy. I'd no idea he'd flown here in Australia. I'll have to find out more. Such a shame his wife wasn't buried by him. Beautiful cemetery Ron. A great guy, talking about the life of a great man. Thankyou 💚

My uncle was born in 1901 and he mentioned he saw Houdini as a boy. He did not see him perform, even though, I thought that was awesome. Houdini grew up in poverty and wanted his mother to have a better life and was determined to provide it to her. The guy who punched him was being a wise guy. He knew Houdini had to prepare to be punched and swung when he vulnerable. Finally, I think it's high time to place this couple side by side. Things aren't as strict as it use to be 100 years ago. Okay, one more thing, my grandmother was born in Budapest, Hungary and census records have Austria crossed out and Hungary written in. A country who's border's shifted many times. They say he was born in Austria-Hungary. Excellent video that I enjoyed very much, thank you.

What a sad ending to such a talented, good person. The story resonates in my family, at the Grace hospital he died at is where many of my ancestors/family members were treated in the early 1900s here in Detroit.

That was an exceptional video Ron, thank you for the grave tour and thank you for playing the song I never heard it and I’ve read all the books including one that was written in the 1940s that showed how he created and did all of his illusions. However, there was a few things I didn’t know which surprised me.superb💯👍🏻❤️

Omg so wonderful seeing this cemetery restored and cleaned. Sadly Houdini's family grave was so abandoned and beyond repair at the time. Thank you for this and No sadly his wife is not buried there with him. But thrilled to see the cemetery cleaned up and restored. Queens is lucky to have the resting place for the Great Houdini 🎩 ✨

Harry Houdini's death only proves that even life can't be prolonged through magical powers or any sort of skill. However, his death also sparked inspiration and interest among amateur magicians-and even today, many magicians still relive the mystery and wonder of Mr. Harry Houdini. Ron, thank you so much for featuring Houdini's final resting place. God bless you always.😊💥💫✨
