Doesn't his character development lead to ideals that don't aline to those of the trans community?
I mean, his character development is about transition due to reject of his original form, but at the end he accept the imperfection of his world and his previous self, as the shape he took was just a shell to reject his fears, so the transition wasn't a good thing to do.
That's just my read on the character tho, I'd like to read yours. I think I know why one could make the assumption of him being trans, his struggles and quirks seem to resemble those that to my knowledge are related to the trans male experience.
