What really excites me is to build a thin client home (lab) setup with a Ceph cluster operating under a Proxmox HA cluster with VMs to support everyone’s desktops, reserving the thick clients for the dedicated gamers and such. Wife thinks I’m crazy but what a great learning experience.
I would LOVE to test out Ceph with RAM drives. I used to be able to do that with GlusterFS v3.7, but they deprecated in version 5 and took that out in version 6. :( (It's for a HPC scratch disk where the volume of data would just eat NVMe SSD, even enterprise ones, for breakfast, but I also need the pure speed of it as well, and my cluster is too old to be able to run Intel Optane PMEM.)

Wait actually? Could we perhaps get in touch because that sounds awesome, would love to learn more!!

Can't believe no one caught 27:45 🤣 Great work as always!
How does ceph handle bad drive sectors?
