@@guruch4534 its time music and art lovers realize that not always good music equates to MORE views. If a song affects emotions of the listener I think it achieves its goal.
From what I’ve read in the comments from people who follow Karpe, this was the first time Chirag sang in Gujarati, he mostly only sings in Norwegian. And of course, towards the end he kept repeating that line in Urdu as well. Amanda also harmonized with Kaifi when he sang in Balochi and she also sang in Urdu towards the end. So language truly wasn’t a barrier but a bridge in this song, everything from the vocals to the music blended so perfectly together. There were 7 languages in this song, Norwegian, Farsi, Gujarati, Arabic, Urdu, Balochi, English. About the hyena line, I heard another TH-camr mention that it’s a reference to a line from one of Karpe’s song. 41:26, Magdi’s dialect is Egyptian. He wasn’t saying hello, just pronouncing “qalu” differently, “ qalu ajnabi.” Qalu means “they say” and Ajnabi in Arabic translates to foreigner or stranger. Urdu has so much of Farsi and Arabic and so does Balochi so it all sounds very familiar despite being different. Did you guys notice the post office sign? Kaifi is standing inside the PO. At 20:50, you can see 15 written in Urdu above the door that Magdi comes out of. An obvious reference to Season 15🎉
@@gadgetsnation6118 that’s not the line I’m referring to. She also sang Piya Piya Janu, which was written in Urdu. She also harmonized with Kaifi with the line Biya Biya Janam, which is the same in Balochi and Farsi. Farsi is the common element in Urdu and Balochi.
@gadgetsnation6118 Thank you! Janu is a very common Urdu word as well. And Piya is a Hindi/Urdu word. So Piya Piya Janu is an Urdu line in that context. Also, that line is written in the Urdu script, which was distinct from the Farsi and Balochi scripts used in this video. ( don't ask me how I noticed all those details, I often find languages fascinating) Not that it matters. There are so many commonalities between all these languages.
41:45 Imagine that, an Indian singing in Gujrati, in CS Pakistan. Brilliant. You guys are the ONLY ones who watched Part 1 of the Magical Journey, before the song. What a brilliant collaboration, a stunning vibe & unbelievable vocals. The process for us viewers is finally completed with your beautiful and on point review and analysis. Superb.
Oh I love you guys ❤ A number of metaphors here in the set, it’s a “small world” and music is the thread taking them to Building no. 15 (the home of CS 15), the expat diaspora longing for connection to their homelands, how each of them still has a piece of their cultures in them, Chiragh is in a rendition of Hopper’s Nighthawks painting representing liminal spaces, neither here nor there, Amanda has Persian art in her space, Kaifi is at a post office (Pakistan sent an invitation to join us here) ❤❤❤ Music transcends all borders ❤
The song is an expression of the diaspora and their love for their motherlands. Egypt, India, Iran will consider the singers as ajnabi (foreigners) due to them being Norwegians, but they care not as they celebrate their multiculturalism. If you listen to Carpes music, alot of it is about the exclusion people of immigrant backgrounds feel in their nation, if they keep a connection to their motherland and parents identity.
Nobody can review like you two do. You cover each and every little detail that no other can notice. Two queens, you are true heir of Iron Throne of Coke Studio 😍😍
So glad you guys watched part 1 of the macical journey before listening to the song (like CS wanted us to). So many people didn't do that and really missed out on the essence of the song.
'Piya' could also be 'Homeland', since Karpe write a lot of their lyrics for an immigrant/diaspora experience living in foreign countries. Then the whole meaning of the song changes :)
I've been eagerly looking forward to your response since the song was released. Thank you, I am leaving a comment before watching the video. I hope both of you have an interesting reaction, just like you always do, ladies.
When I saw the Karpe/Omsr Sheriff project videos from the Oslo concerts, I had a feeling this should be shared to the world at large. So glad this collaboration with Coke Studios came to be☝️ Glad you two have done this reaction to the process. Thank you from the North of Norway, peace and ❤

I think the hyena line is about being aware of predators disguised as lovers. She also says dont be wise in hindsight, as in you will learn later what your love really is.
The line "My queen, don't be wise in hindsight" also refers to the Koh-e-Noor diamond (the worlds most famous diamond, mentioned in the previous sentence) and the British empire takeover/stealing of that diamond by Queen Victoria ultimately. This has for a long time been a controversial heritage from the empire days.
Then, you'll see the ending of the LIVE PERFORMANCE JAM (second video of the full song)... that ending is also the ending included in the final version.
That hyena line was basically referring to Karpe's project Omar Sherrif, so yeah it wont make a sense unless we get to know where it is coming from. ❤️
