I love my people with all my heart. I wish we weren’t so quick to move on from our culture, but rather preserve it. That’s what I respect greatly about New Orleans, our folks are keeping tradition alive down there. I wish we carried all of our culture with us when we left the south in droves, but unfortunately, our culture quickly became watered down in the Northern parts of this country. Don’t get me wrong, we went on to do great things in the Midwest, East Coast and West, but that element of tradition is truly missing up here. Im from Indianapolis, and when I went down to NO, I knew that I was truly home. It made me wish I could pick New Orleans up, drop it off in Africa, and build us a nation for ourselves, with the culture of NO. Our culture is so rich, from Houston, New Orleans, Mississippi, Georgia, to the Gullah Islands, we’ve conquered the world stage with our culture. We as African Americans are only about 40 million some odd people, but have GREATLY impacted the world of BILLIONS! I love us. Thanks again, brother/Sister. Peace.

Because we are a mix of black cultures, Afro creoles from Louisiana and Haiti, Black people from all over the south and indigenous peoples from Louisiana and Mississippi.

I went to school with monster back in 94 to 97/98? at Fredrick Douglas (90s New Orleans) Pep Rallies in the gym when they was playing Trigga Man. From 2005 to 2019 it was like witnessing the Reincarnation of the 1865 Reconstruction period/ Harlem Renaissance with these Second Lines. But yet, nobody listened at my premonition,I warned my Black people if you allow outsiders in your natural/native habitat. (, Without even asking questions (Your Culture will be depleted) No Second Lines in Large Numbers), Maybe no Black Based Second Lines at all.

This is my grandmother home born and raised. She is no longer with us this definitely helps stay connected with her.
I have watched this video for over a year and there is no other second line video like it. I understand that this was made to include almost all the second lines for the year before the virus and it shows how natural people were then. No one realized they were being recorded for such a highly rated video so they just danced. The music was so precise and the dancers were brilliant. That why I think this video is the best second line video ever and there will never be another one like it. Now when you watch a video everybody is trying to get in the picture and out doing the next person instead of just bring themselves like its always been. So NOLA VIBE if there was an award for second line videos you would win in every category.
