Third place with a vehicle Ken has never driven, on a course he's never even seen let alone driven, using a vastly different drive technology from what he's ever driven, without the benefit of a navigator, with a new car not previously tested in a competitive desert race, and even getting lost on part of the course? Friggin' impressive! Just as Porsche broke the all time record on the Pikes Peak hill climb with an electric car, given Ken's initial results, it won't be long before electrics will also set off road records.
Urinal Yes, I know. But so do most of those who participate in the Paris/Dakar race. Running an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar course, without a co-pilot puts him at a disadvantage. So, getting third on this stage is very impressive.
@ 8:40 is crazy. It sounds EXACTLY like a power wheels. As soon as I heard it, it reminded me of something from my child hood. At first I thought “maybe an RC car”? Then I realized it. It sounded identical (especially when he takes off from a dead stop). It sounds exactly like when I would take off in the little power wheels Barbie Jeep that my cousin had. It does seem, and I’m sure that it would be a lot louder and more defined when you hear it in person vs through a TH-cam video. I’m just amazed at how identical the sounds are. I’m almost positive that if played with no context, or even being able to see the automobile (just hearing). I’m 99.9% sure that I would not be able to notice the differences between the two and their “sounds”.

So cool. Just imagine some Space Force recruits tearing around Mars in one of these some day.
Hooning 2020 eco friendly style. Mah never a patch on the Mustang or the Escort.
You had me at “rally car”, electric racing is the next big thing. It even sounds like a RC car. If I had one, I would tear it up.
Ken good job ! Prove to all those exhaust sniffers the future is electric ! Instant torque ! Exhilarating acceleration and no noise to annoy anyone or attract the attention of the law ! Whats not to like !
"So I can hoon this right?" man wastes no time asking the essentials
OMG did you hear that thing when he took off????? neither did I lol. I laughed at 4:09 when he said (put it where you want it and get on the gas).........gas??? Anyhoo, this thing is super sweet and I would do just about anything to drive one.
He drives cars for a living
Urinal Yes, I know. But so do most of those who participate in the Paris/Dakar race. Running an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar course, without a co-pilot puts him at a disadvantage. So, getting third on this stage is very impressive.
Gregory Parrott he’s talented, he’s been driving all kinds of cars his whole life. Nothing driving wise is a challenge to this man 😂
Awesome camera work all ways enjoy watching Ken when he's behind the wheel of what ever he's running.
Memorising how you can drive with such precision in such a rough surface.
Ken (at Ford): Can I hoon it?
Ford: No.
Ken: This is not built by Ford - Can I hoon it?
Ford: Sure, we'll take you there
Ken finally driving a car that sounds good!👌🏻
had to thank his Ford overlords lol
bet he had to make a sacrifice so the ford gods don't destroy the contract
Yeah must be rough
I’m 99.9% sure that I would not be able to notice the differences between the two and their “sounds”.
we learned about instantaneous torque in 1978 when our propulsion shaft twisted off. It had been engineered for a reduction gear and we were spinning a DC motor.
Bring it to Kenya for the wrc safari Rally July this year.
