Never thought I would say this but this is a very below average harmonica solo from Mr Wonder. Btw I play harmonica and I’ve seen Stevie in concert 7 times, first time the ‘Hotter Than July Music Picnic’ in 1980 and I’ve still got the T-shirt.

@@FUNKINETIK I think the harmonica solo was scaled back to blend in with the other musical effects of PJ Morton. I think this was intentional, and personally like the effect, because you don't know where the harmonica ends/digital (synthesizer) effects begin. The song itself is winding down (at the end), so it fits the mood. If his solo were in the middle of the song (or beginning), then I'd expect it to be more prominent and memorabl
@@MGillDesign I hear what you’re saying….. but, in my ears, you have a Wonder like Stevie you don’t blend his solo with digital (I’m an analogue purist) synth effects and fade out. Anyway it is what it is. The song makes me think of a classic tune by 5th Dimension - they were signed to Motown for a period of time. Also makes me think of ‘A Seed’s a Star - A Tree Melody’ off the Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants album. Look up the Dogon Tribe from Mali, Africa . . really interesting.

The song is pretty cool and the animation is off the chain! The cartoon looks like a TV show that Hannah-Barbera would have produced back in the early 70's (e. g., Scooby Doo, Josie & the Pussycats, etc.). Big shout out to the animation team that put this together!

Really! That harmonica solo at the end is classic Stevie. The melody along with the chord changes is perfect; it captures the mood that Stevie's music put you into!

Nas rapping over that time signature isn’t easy at all. Really shows his musicality and lyric ability to maintain a flow underneath polyrhythms.

It’s in 4/4, but the second snare of each bar hits between the 4th and 1st beat so it kinda sounds like it’s in a different time signature

WOW!!! BRILLIANT PJ!!! It's amazing at how Stevie's voice is so pristine and so ageless!! Stevie sounds as if he's still 25yrs old. And this song is so timely and powerful! Listening to this makes me feel like a kid again listening to SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE or INNERVISONS. Good hearing NAS always which adds to the song in a unique way.
I hope this becomes a new hit especially for Stevie! We need to hear more from our icons and legends.

I hate to be crude here…but this song is like an ear orgasm…the song you never get tired of playing and always bop to it like it’s your first time listening to it, a lot of love and creativity went into this song and I’m very thankful for that and in my biased opinion, it’s one of the best songs to come out of 2022, so far❤️
