So cool to see your creative process and the confident teamwork of your cast iron community! The pumpkins look incredible!!! The gray cast iron finish gives them a timeless spooky vibe!
Holy Smokes I wasn’t sure what all the steps were but I’m pretty sure my adhd brain would get like a quarter of the way through and never touch it again 😂 also props to you for being able to lift all that you’re a bad ass!
My dear young lady, I have seldom been impressed as much as by your pumpkin video. Iron casting is not easy or simple and whether or not you are aware, you have demonstrated a complete set of skills involved in iron foundry operations. Your results with he iron pumpkins are noting short of amazing! (my 30 years of iron foundry experience tell me this.) Dave Streeter BSME, PE.
awesome channel and great work on the pumpkins. deer arent eating those 😂😂I love casting. only played around a little bit with lead, aluminum and plaster paris and only a few casts. Was that some kind of bring your own mold community pour event or something? Really cool.
They turned out great. I think that satin clear cote would probably be good to keep them looking grey iron. You could always paint over that if you wanted, or you also could paint and chemically strip as well and still have bare cast, only going back from rusting would be sandblasting but the surface would be different. Curious how much do they weigh? Must be like bowling balls.
If you decide to finish them, try heating them with a torch and hitting them with a brass wire wheel. It won't be the classic orange color but there are yellow varieties and you have a natural metal finish.
These were so much fun to make! Thanks for tuning into this video and sticking it out with me until the end!☺️❤️

So cool
Cast iron pumpkins, year's in the making. Sounds like some of my projects. Thanks for the video. Be Safe

Maybe the best liquid nails commercial I've seen.
😅🤣

Oh, those are fantastic!
Very cool. They look great.
Damn they turned out gorgeous! And they would still be stylish when rusted (don't get me wrong, I love the goth patina).
What a smart creative process for such a creative project. This was magical to watch
Thanks so much!❤
Cool pumpkins, coat with vinegar, then clear coat. You are right, that's the way to go. Love the pumpkins, and love you.❤❤❤❤🎃🎃🎃🎃😊
Very cute and amazing castings!!!
That was an interesting cast, quite a tricky thing to make a mold of. Well done!
Wow these are absolutely epic. Amazing Laura👍
Thanks so much 😊
Very cool Laura!!
Bravo!
Awesome!!!!!!, put a nice seasoning on them :)
Perfect as is, no changes. Happy Halloween!
Shame the waffles patterns had paper thin sections leading to post mold breakage, a redo?
Fun video.

"Ramming Pumpkins" sounds like a 90's rock band!!
Cool Video. If you leave your mixer running when you dump the sand it will all come out with no hassle.
you might try hitting them with a bronze wire brush
🎃Happy Halloween🎃
question: noted a vaguely familiar female vocal, are you singing again?
☺️

what sand system are you using and where can i sourse it? thanks in advance
Any thought of trying the lost foam method, as you were using the foam pumpkins. Making the sand mold would have been easier.
It definitely would have been easier!😅
I would not put them up . I would keep them out always .
To smash one would be a CRIME.
love ur work. if u need help to edit those videos i can help u, i do a cut in days, im more o less faster, just tell me and we can work it :)
Do you think its possible to make an Afghan pressure cooker from cast iron? They make them from lead tainted aluminum.
It wouldn’t be possible for me to make an afghan pressure cooker from cast-iron. Someone else might be able to make it?!😊
@@CastIronGypsy Cast iron might be dangerous as at pressure.
