He won the last golden ticket 🎫 to the 2021 Immortal Songs King of Kings special with this performance so we will have the opportunity to see him again soon 💖
It was his first solo appearance on Immortal Songs. They called him a “legend of the musical scene”, “an unrivaled presence” citing his Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar”. He wanted to win, said he felt “great, ready, excited, let’s go”. On Immortal Radio, MKL said when he was young, he wanted to be a radio DJ because they shape our culture. Michael said that Journey’s “Open Arms” is if you are having a “hard day, thinking about your loved ones, this song is for you”. He said the artists want to meet the audience with open arms. As he walked the hallway to the stage, MKL said he wanted to meet everyone and touched the hands of each of his multiage supporting singers. Michael said this is a thank you song, a song of his gratitude. MKL received an enthusiastic standing ovation from the DJ audience. There were captions, “cheerful song of hope for the world” and “you rock”. Shinui of Monni who had done a musical with MKL said that Michael was the epitome of skillful and the “best”. To Park Aeri, MKL shined on stage where he belongs, excited to perform before an audience. The guest DJ, Lee Geumhee said it was her first meeting with MKL, and that he is known to be sincere, meaning every word he says and singing with all of his heart. Another DJ related the two prime roles that musical actors want to sing are the Phantom and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. MKL’s family motto is “Happy Wife, Happy Life”. Stepping off stage, Michael said Wow, I can’t believe I won and he could relax because he loved Hweseung’s performance. Then MLK said for the subsequent performers to come at him and made a growling, yet smiling face. His next competitor was Laboum who soldiers voted wanting to see them 2nd after their parents and before their girlfriends. Michael was sitting on the couch making 2 small hearts and thumbs up during their “Eternal Love” musical-like performance. Koh Yujin, the king of karaoke songs did Kim Bumsoo’s “I Miss You” , one of Korea’s top 50 songs with the hope that we have missed KYJ’s voice, and I do. Yurisangja said some of their fans ditched them to become the band Flower fans. The DJs said that KYJ’s voice has become richer and more expressive. Michael said he had to win, blew a kiss to the camera with a 👍 and good luck. His final competitors were Ryu Jeongun and Park Sanhee from the Legend, New Singer who sang a soulful “A Cup of Tea”. Michael’s jaw dropped open at their voices. Michael said they were the future of rock and roll.
P.S. Although Michael won the last golden ticket, he wasn’t on the roster for the King of Kings 2021 special. 😢
