I used to live in HB - born and raised. There is a lot to do there and it’s a beautiful city. I ended up moving out of state because I couldn’t afford to even rent an apartment - I was renting a room. Also, the traffic and overcrowding got to me. The crime rate is also going up - in the past few years there have been shootings, house robberies, the homelessness has gone up, there’s a lot of drug use, etc. I wouldn’t say it’s massively dangerous to live there, but crime definitely does exist, and you should be careful.
I surf HB pier in morning 6am to 9pm since 1980. Moving there? I worked from 2012 to 2018 in Jeffersonvill Indiana, Mishawaka Indiana, elkhart Indiana and Shepardvill Kentucky which the weather killed me, no sun for months but to be honest returning home, I love HB. It’s funny sometimes , I get flashbacks that I am in Midwest. Today with air shows, Jet ski races , volleyball and other events my Midwest friends love HB. Well, Home is priceless. Downey California
Great job! Looking to relocate to the OC area from LA! Also working on my real estate license ! My only suggestion would be add more pics/videos ! New Subscriber :)
Good for special needs kids schooling and also is there any like main hospitals or anything for the kiddos to do that spikes my interest even more coming from Washington State we don't have a lot of amazing stuff want to have him be able to do a lot more stuff
HB is nice, near Long Beach (Belmont Shore) and near other cities in OC. But still out of my price according to my lender. What about Lake Elsinore or Wildomar area?
@@JebSmith I moved there when I was 10 years old in 1963 and left there in 1994 only returning to see my Parents and siblings until 2020. I saw the town which I loved, turn into a megacity with high rises, increasing home and apartment prices, over population, and replacing the strip malls and some suburb homes with multi-storied condos and businesses, the prime example being along Beach blvd, at Ellis and Beach. The traffic flow has gotten hideous, Newland and Magnolia and Brookhurst Ave have become raceways. In contrast to HB, Seal Beach did it right by preserving the downtown area more in line with its beach front style.
I've lived outside of CA and while I think I would consider a few areas, once your here and you've experienced the weather, why go anywhere else? There are definitely downsides to CA but I'm here for all the activities it has to offer in addition to the best weather in the country.
4th-generation L.A. native and I moved to HB 15 years ago. I will never, ever, ever, leave this paradise.

Thanks for the tips!
What do you think about Ocean Towers in Huntington Beach? Thinking about renting for 1 year! Thanks!
As a visitor the parking is so confusing cant park anywhere with no permit away from the beach
What do you think about the neighborhood at Bolsa Chica and Heil ? Average price for a 2 bedroom home or condo.
Which neighborhood? Riveria Huntington? Reach out to me and we can chat in more detail.

How are the colleges in Huntington Beach?
There is only one and it's a good college.
Are there any lofts in HB?
Yes but not a lot of them.
Are there affordable townhomes in a nice part of HB? Price range 400-450?
At the moment, not really. There are a few condos in that price range.
There are affordable modular/manufactured homes that are lower than that range actually, but other than that I don't really know.
I’ve always wanted to move to CA. Still do. But watching how long the lockdowns in CA were a huge no for me. 😩.
I am interested in visiting the dog beach. That sounds like a lot of fun!
Definitely a cool spot to let the dogs run around......It can be chaotic at times as you would imagine.

What do you want to know about those cities? Send me an email at jeb@jebsmith.net
Lake Elsinore is cheaper
I grew up here and I’ll always love HB, however the housing market there is ridiculously overpriced and I’ll never go back. Texas boy now🤘
Hahahaha, I get it.
There are some mobile homes here that are pretty cheap. However, other than that you're correct.
Make sure you make at least $250k/yr to live comfortably there.
You can live here on less, I know a lot of people who make less than $250K and are doing fine.
I'd say more in like 150k 180k range you live in hb great area
@@MCC1591 That's barely enough for a single person to scrape by. A family of 3 or will definitely be in the $300k+ range.
I think you are confusing HB with Corona Del Mar
Family of 5 with about 150k a year we are doing very very well and are very comfortable
Beautiful beach and town. Worst part is the city. I use to live there.
What's wrong with the city? Just curious.
I disagree...

Who would possibly want to move to California? Beautiful place to visit but thats about it
The same people that can afford to buy 400k dollar car. For a lot of people money is not an issue, they just want the best.

Is there a lot of racism there?
Not that I'm aware of
A lot. Its a prissy boujee city. American and Confederate flags too
Yes, lots of conservatives and make "america great again" white people

@@julecasey2376 aMeriCAn fLaG??? NO!!!
If you’re white you’ll love it.
I know many people that aren't white that live here and also love it.
