The Regal here in Seattle plans to do a special Halloween Double-Feature of the first film and this one! My buddy and I are dressing up as guy versions of Lydia and Astrid and going to see it :) I am so stoked!

Some info for this film: -Geena Davis had previously said that she was approached by Burton to be featured as a small part but did not want to do it without Baldwin, who is currently dealing with legal battles after a tragic incident on the set of his film, so she respectfully turned it down. -The funeral is for Charles Deetz, played by Jeffery Jones who is currently on the national S3x offender registery. They wanted to kill off his character. -This movie will mainly rely on practical effects, claymation and little CGI to keep the feel of the original film. -Danny Elfman will helm the score and sound production as well :) -William Dafoe will be featured & play a ghost who is an actor that becomes a paranormal investigator.
If you look close at the scene when the coffin sinks into the earth, you can see for a frame or two the picture of Charles Deetz behind the flowers on the coffin. So, it‘s his funeral.
William Shadix who played Otho died in 2010, so unfortunately he won't be back. Jeffrey Jones won't be back because of being a sex offender (look it up if you want but it involves a child).... Alec Baldwin has his own problems right now due to what happened on the set of Rust, plus he's talked negatively about Beetlejuice over the years so he probably wouldn't have wanted to come back anyway which means Geena Davis is out of luck for coming back either. My guess is the funeral is for Jeffrey Jones's character.
@@filthycasual8187 - Even when actors have retired from acting certain projects, if they are offered to them, can coax them back out of retirement for a little while, so who knows what Geena Davis would consider coming back for.

Tim Burton asked Geena to make a cameo appearance but she said she didn't want to be in it if Alec wasn't in it too.
