Thank you so much for this very rare Arfa side (and the rare picture featuring Lolov with a moustache!)! The golden years of bulgarian music (until 1950): so wild, so vivid and colourful... and with awesome musicians and singers, like the incredible Ramadan Lolov. Those who had the chance to hear him live said he was himself crying when he played his solos!
Hello, I am very pleased! Of course, the recordings then were more emotional, more real, all live together. My grandfather also had many of these records. I am from the hometown of Ramadan Lolov, he is also buried here, unfortunately I have not seen his grave. In the photo next to him is the singer who sings this cheerful dance song "On the gallows".
@@StephenKing-i7q Please cherish these old records! I read that Orfei had published around 5000 discs, alas only a few survived! As Lolov's grave, I've heard that nobody knows about it! When Lauren Brody tried to contact the descendants of these illustrious musicians and singers, she received many refusals. Few wanted to testify about that time, as if that period had become cursed in people's minds! How would you explain this? One of the effects - tenacious - of the cultural policy wanted by the Soviets?

@@monsieurdoumache Yes, somewhere they write that 5,000 ! ORFEI records have been released! :) I think they added one 0 ... the released ORFEI discs are about 500 from 1938 to 1947. In the post-war period 1945-50 mostly songs from previous years are reissued because the new ones were very few.
