Jack e Tiago, in arte The Lads, sono esattamente coetanei: nati nel ’91, Jack nel Regno Unito, Tiago in Portogallo, i due giovani artisti possono già vantare nei rispettivi curricula diverse partecipazioni alle grandi produzioni del celeberrimo Cirque du Soleil. Il loro numero di “mano a mano”, disciplina acrobatica di particolare impatto scenico nella quale ciascuno dei due artisti si affida completamente all’altro, intende celebrare l’amicizia come relazione tra persone che si scoprono vicine come fossero fratelli al di là di ogni reale vincolo anagrafico.
Jack and Tiago, performing as The Lads, are exactly the same age: born in ’91, Jack is from the United Kingdom, while Tiago is from Portugal. These two performers have both already worked for Cirque du Soleil. Their ‘hand to hand’ number, a spectacular acrobatic discipline in which the performers place their trust in each other, celebrates the friendship of two people who discover that brotherhood is not limited to family.

The army was very serious, lots of marching, and fighting, building forts etc...
It was like a full-time life-or-death job. You can look it up, I suspect I may have gotten it from the Wikipedia section on "Homosexuality in Ancient Rome."

As well as unions were encouraged because men fought harder when their beloved’s life was quite literally on the line. My grandfather used to do this in the 1930s with a friend of his as pure entertainment - before everyone had TVs and even radios. He would squeeze your hand to show he still had it when he was an old man. He lived into his 90’s and only died because of a tree trimming accident. He taught me about self discipline. ❤
