The whole him imprinting on her was always weird to me because the connotations around imprinting is romantic the majority of the time. It almost always blooms into romance if it didn't start that way. The wolf who imprints sees years into the future with the imprintee. I understand that it doesn't always have romantic connotations which was later revealed when Bella confronted him about it and Jacob said "it's not like that. Do you think Edward would let me live if it was?". He had a point with that statement. Still doesn't change the fact that it's pretty weird lmfao

@@brycekennedy5935 it states that it follows whatever the imprintee needs, brother, friend, lover.. he follows her lead. The fact that Jacob wanted to kill her at first because she murdered Bella (not intentionally) and then saw something in her that was different seeing that she wasn’t a monster and decided not to and imprinted on her instead is meaningful because it was finally someone that he could protect and look out for
Some people seem to overlook that he had no control over imprinting on her, that was against his will. He would’ve killed Renesmee if he didn’t imprint, regardless of if he saw her as a monster or not. The way Jacob saw it before he even walked back inside the house was that Bella died because of her, so Renesmee must meet the same fate.

I think she probably heard but since she can't read his emotions, didn't know his intentions. He was residing at their house and allowed to walk freely, especially around pregnant Bella and by extension, unborn Reneseme. So him coming to see the baby would not be a big thing to her.
i see only one issue with that from a lore perspective. the only way they couldve done that at that point is if jacob took over the entire pack and he didnt want to lead his own let alone EVERYONE

Jacob will become whatever she needs him to be. It will mostly end up romantic become he will be the perfect partner for her. Wait did you say its still gross even when shes an adult
Exactly. Imprinting is literally a romantic thing in Twilight. Everyone in this series that imprinted _has_ gotten together with the person they imprinted on, and their personally also gets changed to forever follow the person until they want them basically. This is why many are calling it exactly what it is with Jacob imprinting on a baby... 🤢 Keep in mind this plot exists solely to get Jacob out of the way of Bella and Edward, as Jacob and Bella loved each other up until her wedding day. Stephanie was like "Nope! Can't have that! Let's make him fall in love with their baby instead! Shows how much I despise his character Teehee!" smh!
It's refreshing to hear someone talk about Renesme and Jacob without trying to make their bond perverted. I would love to read another book about them or other characters of the saga.
Give your life to the One who loves you most, your heavenly Father. There is nothing you cannot come back from, absolutely nothing. His mercy is without limit, for He is Love. Do not allow the lies of the world keep you caged.
Underrated comment. This whole saga is so full of sequences where one character just monologues to narrate or expose a plot point in a langish/cringe/stupid way.
The extended version of this scene is hilarious because Edward reads his mind and then breaks his arm. I think he says, “I’ll deal with you later.” 😂 😂 😂
I just can't understand why name the process "imprinting" instead of something more poetic, like "bonding". "Imprinting" just makes me thing of... printers. Something mechanic. Not a highly romantic soul-bond.
I believe cause it's the term usually for baby animals. You know when a baby first looks at its mom? They "imprint" and get attached and follow, which is kinda what the whole Wolf bonding is about (Bonding does sound more romantic though I mean seriously would have been much better)
Well it would be creepy for an adult man to romantic soul bond with a baby so imprinting is the least creepy term I guess? This was such a problematic plot point in the books
I still don't understand how people aren't disgusted by all of it. Some old vampire dating a teenage girl just because he LOOKS like a teenager; and some teenager wolf "imprinting" on his crush's DAUGHTER!! Can you imagine that? Your ex now dating YOUR DAUGHTER???!!!! Holy moly
I think they did that to give Jacob a reason not to age in case there is ever a time jump. Obviously, I would have him choosing not to not age because he would want to be around Bella as her best friend or to protect his pack. I don’t like him imprinting on the baby at all but they should have done it when she was like 18. I think there was another wolf that imprinted on a kid too. Kids shouldn’t be imprinted on. It doesn’t give any of the imprinted free will or much choice to fall in love with someone else.

@@Daniel-ui3zy Right? and a wolf wouldn't imprint on something it couldn't carry on the line with. it was just a 'solution' to the love triangle that is super gross. But in her mind 'look! everyone is happy!' uhhh sure.
For those asking what "Imprint" means they were basically meant to be together and that's why he felt things for Bella because resmee was part of her. Its the wolf's mate basically. Now he is not feeling sexual things for a baby, but he can see her through the vision as she is now when their eyes met, and how she will be, and what she means to him. It means he will be a protector when she is young as a baby, a brother as she is little, then mate when she is full grown. She will be full grown by 7 as an adult and has all the knowledge of her mother's memory and then some (so basically will be an adult in mind and in the body of an adult). Imprinting a child is not gross, because he does not have sexual feelings yet. Listen to how he remembers it being said, a brother, a protector, ect. that would come later. So in essence, Jacob would die to protect her.
Doesn’t Rosalie say that the wolves stink? Why didn’t she notice him stalking into the room/sense his hostility? But weird that he got two feet away without her being concerned at all
When Bella got pissed at Jacob for misunderstanding the imprint, Edward could have easily explained it to her to help Jacob, since Edward could read his mind and understand it better than any of the other vampires.
I wondered Why Rosalie was unaware of Jacob until I realized she was so focused on the baby that she couldn't even hear or smell Jacob. Also, Jacob's helplessness while looking at Edward.
@@chase1146 he is. The purpose of imprinting is a romantic relationship. This is for making "good babies". Jacob has been with her literally since birth, he participates in her upbringing. This is literally raising a wife

I read this part in the books, I read all the laws of imprinting and how it affects both the imprinter and imprintee, and I not so mind that Jacob imprinted on the child and that there’s the assumption that they will end up together once she’s come of age despite Meyers and fans defending that imprinting is a true natural bond that starts out platonic, I mind that it seems poor writing 😕 I feel like Jacob and Renesmee’s relationship were only written so everyone gets the happy ending, Jacob gets to love Bella without being in pain and Bella gets to keep Jacob in her life without hurting him, which I totally understand. But the whole imprinting argument both negative and positive, seems like a crutch to me in storytelling especially when Jacob and Bella would have ended up together if Edward never came back. Don’t get me wrong, it IS weird because Jacob literally saw Bella in all aspects of love, even physical, and then that level of admiration suddenly transfers to HER daughter. I understand the other wolves imprint like Jared and Quil, but Jacob and Renesmee’s case doesn’t make sense to me in the plot. Even though there is closure between Jacob and Bella, the solution for the love triangle feels sloppy writing to me.

Idk, Stephenie Meyer makes it very clear in the books that the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee is on a strictly platonic level while she's a kid - sort of a combination big brother / best friend - and that there's no romantic relationship between them until Renesmee is an adult. I think she was trying to head off the 'that's creepy' comments at the pass

ALL werewolves in La Push would end up dead. No exceptions. Because all of them were near Cullen's house in this particular moment and so they were involved in what happened.
im not so sure ALL of them would wind up dead from the pain. the books explain how a wolfs imprentee(?) was killed only one in their history and it practically destroyed the wolf as a person. but obviously the packs are still around.

The wolf who imprints sees years into the future with the imprintee.
I understand that it doesn't always have romantic connotations which was later revealed when Bella confronted him about it and Jacob said "it's not like that. Do you think Edward would let me live if it was?".

It’s make believe & the writer states that it’s not creepy grooming, it’s mutual unconditional love.. like two halves of the same soul. Just let it be what it is.

I think she probably heard but since she can't read his emotions, didn't know his intentions. He was residing at their house and allowed to walk freely, especially around pregnant Bella and by extension, unborn Reneseme. So him coming to see the baby would not be a big thing to her.
I wish they’d changed it, like if Jacob just chose to protect the baby on his own.

Exactly. Imprinting is literally a romantic thing in Twilight. How?
I just can't understand why name the process "imprinting" instead of something more poetic, like "bonding". "Imprinting" just makes me thing of... printers. Something mechanic. Not a highly romantic soul-bond.
I believe cause it's the term usually for baby animals. You know when a baby first looks at its mom? They "imprint" and get attached and follow, which is kinda what the whole Wolf bonding is about (Bonding does sound more romantic though I mean seriously would have been much better)
@@SilviaChannings This is very interesting, Erica, thanks for explaining!

I don’t like him imprinting on the baby at all but they should have done it when she was like 18.

Jordan Davis 19 So Had His
For those asking what "Imprint" means they were basically meant to be together and that's why he felt things for Bella because resmee was part of her.
