Video that explains what it looks like the equinox at Chichen Itza. Audio in Spanish subtitled in English. Produced by Jose Antonio Ariztegui (tariztegui@hotmail.com)
Thank you Jose. People want to believe any ridiculous thing. The end of one calendar does NOT mean 'the end of the world," does it! It means a new phase is coming
When they mean "the end of the world" it means that things are destroyed in order to get rebuilded. No necessarily mean that the world will no longer exists, but somethin big and tragic will change everything.
This site was perhaps the most impressive I've ever visited - anywhere in the world. Fantastic, I was fortunate enough to visit when it was still permitted to climb to the top of the largest temple/pyramid. Wonderful experience.
It´s not only in that place. Also occurs other effects in the sun in Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Mayapan at least, but do not have the promotion that Chichen Itza has.
Been there and 'El Castillo' still fills me with awe. For the earnest key-seeker: José Diaz Bolio has written imporant works on the Maya's, Kukulkan and more. Thanks for a great video.
We went to cancun and this was my favorite part. I would have rather spent the week at the hotel here in Yucatan than in the resort we were at, i was so impressed with this and in complete awe.
Just came back from Chichen Itza, I only wish I have seen this video before, very clear, very informative. GREAT WORK! GRAN TRABAJO!! Muchas gracias!
I am really proud to be Mexican, my ancestors were amazing, and just because Mexico isn't so great today means that i can't be as remarkable as my ancestors.
If you will notice in the Angels and Demons, Vittoria cued a dialogue like this: "Prophet who predicted the annihilation of the Earth..." It is another clue to Dan Brown's next book, THE LOST SYMBOL.
This video was made in order to be informative, in order to be seen before entering the archaeological site. Of course the shadow is manipulated because shade takes more than the 5 min video length.
To see this in person is stunning. I was there during Easter week and really was impressed. By the way, the Mexicans are very nice people. Many of the people in that area of Mexico are Mayan. If you are light skinned like me then go in the morning when the Sun is not so oppressive. It gets very hot in the afternoon so protect yourself with serious sunscreen.
i understand what your saying iv had this thought also..i still find them interesting for the amount of knowledge they had at such an early time period about things even their conquerers had no clue about AND YET...were ripping people hearts out by the hundreds
The inner pyramid built for 251-year seasonal tropical Venus as the return of Shem-Melchizedek in 362bc from the Shem-Ramis Venus 1868bc G.Dec 17 and tropical sun of 360bc when Shem died at 600. The enlarged outer pyramid of 800 AD is built for the return of Noah-Melchizedek's 235-year Semiramis (Dove in the arrows) Sagitarius Venus of 2021bc Dec 25 (G.Dec 8). This 800ad is Greek year 6000 of Adam and the count of 235 continues to 1975.
Amazing, trek, it looms from the ground up! It give you the feeling of awe, it seemed like every visitor had the sense of it. 1.2 million vistors a year, the Mayans had a very structured civilization. All of the terrain and drive to it is jungle straight out of "Apocalypto".
It´s so amazaing! there are so many places on earth our ancestors left behind and we just don´t see them - we forget them - I guess there are so many informations buried underneath that we just have to decipher and understand!
@tariztegui Very fascinating. I was trying to find something else while I stumbled upon this. I was looking for what might have been a Mayan or Aztec styled temple. It had serpent-like windows carved so that a number of illuminated serpents would appear on what looked like a hollow inside? Thanks alot if you respond to this.
@kyonsuzumiyakim History can be cruel sometimes. Still I have to stand in awe of a place like Chichen Itza. There is nothing to compare it to in my country, the USA. When I was there our guide who was half Mayan was very interested in the Mel Gibson movie because it was done in the Mayan language. So there must be some pride in their native language and culture. I think you are right about the Spanish influence in Mexico. The movie stars like Selma Hyak are more European looking.
I agree with the "like going to hell"...my husband and I BOTH had a very uncomfortable feeling the minute we entered the grounds. The blood shed in this area was extreme to say the least. The guide explained the rituals and acts that would scare anyone.
It's a great explanation, but the graphics do NOT hold up! I just watched a video by the Smithsonian which showed the actual build-up of the shadow in which all the serpent's 'humps' rose up gradually at the same time, from base to top of the rail. This video with the shadow gradually descending the staircase is bogus, if you watch the clouds don't change at all!
This is one of the most impressionant cultures of all history, not only of "mesoamerica", but human race... im gonna be in chichén itzá smoking some weed and practicing meditation... yeah! hail maya masters!
it met harvest time ....smart 365 stairs = 365 days calander pyramind can get better then that ...the kings are gone but the decentdants and pyraminds are still here ...
The Mayans never spoke of the end of the world. They marked that date as the end of an era and the beginning of one new. The change in the person.
Thank you Jose. People want to believe any ridiculous thing. The end of one calendar does NOT mean 'the end of the world," does it! It means a new phase is coming
When they mean "the end of the world" it means that things are destroyed in order to get rebuilded.

This place was amazing when I visited this year. Was really glad I got to film this area and add it to my channel.
This site was perhaps the most impressive I've ever visited - anywhere in the world. Fantastic, I was fortunate enough to visit when it was still permitted to climb to the top of the largest temple/pyramid.
Wonderful experience.
of course they would forbid doing that. Lucky you!
It´s not only in that place. Also occurs other effects in the sun in Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Mayapan at least, but do not have the promotion that Chichen Itza has.
Beautiful!!
This is the best video on this topic, far better than people who post about it with no information at all. Thank you for making it!
Wow! We have go back again to witness the equinox. Thanks for the share!
que padre se siente ser mexicano......it feels awsome being mexican!!!!!
Jajaja
Been there and 'El Castillo' still fills me with awe. For the earnest key-seeker: José Diaz Bolio has written imporant works on the Maya's, Kukulkan and more. Thanks for a great video.
I have been there 3 times . climbed 2 . saw the light show once .
Wonderful video! Thanks so much for adding it! My best, Moppet
We went to cancun and this was my favorite part. I would have rather spent the week at the hotel here in Yucatan than in the resort we were at, i was so impressed with this and in complete awe.
Spent a day here in the mid 1990's. One of the most amazing and powerful experiences of my life. Glad I made the trek in a small plane from Cozumel.
Just came back from Chichen Itza, I only wish I have seen this video before, very clear, very informative. GREAT WORK! GRAN TRABAJO!! Muchas gracias!
Yes and I can't wait.
Gracias!

I've been there and its awesome
Gee, I thought it was going to show the actual descent of the light......
It is incredibly hard to find good footage of the event.
It did, look carefully starting @ 3:04, it’s sped up, because who’s going to hang around for 5 hours to watch it?
@chairde
I second this! The people there are so kind, especially the Mayans.
Been there three times, climbed it twice. Quite amazing...
To see this in person is stunning. I was there during Easter week and really was impressed. By the way, the Mexicans are very nice people. Many of the people in that area of Mexico are Mayan. In Mexico in the state of Yucatan
Amazing, trek, it looms from the ground up!
It give you the feeling of awe, it seemed like every visitor had the sense of it.

Mind popping
@tariztegui yes

I was there. It was like going to hell and back.
Hell and back ? Explain.
There needs to be the full 5 hour long video to witness this whole event. On youtube

does that moving shadow at 3:02 happenes 2 times a year?
@theresxhope i went a few days ago and i think 95 bodies were found. and 80 of those bodies were young females, between the ages 8-14.
Twice a year march 21 and september 21

Really? I didn't, I thought it was fascinating and loved seeing it. Luckily I went when people could still climb the steps.
all those who go to chichen itza leave cursed
I was fascinated with the engineering but the strange feeling was very real to both of us. The buildings were absolutely undeniably amazing.
David L lucky!! 😢
why the equinox only on that place ?
been there, seen the feathered serpent
interesting
