    The Mayans never spoke of the end of the world. They marked that date as the end of an era and the beginning of one new. The change in the person.

      Thank you Jose. People want to believe any ridiculous thing. The end of one calendar does NOT mean 'the end of the world," does it! It means a new phase is coming

    • @Jizzaprove
      @Jizzaprove 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When they mean "the end of the world" it means that things are destroyed in order to get rebuilded.
      No necessarily mean that the world will no longer exists, but somethin big and tragic will change everything.

    This site was perhaps the most impressive I've ever visited - anywhere in the world. Fantastic, I was fortunate enough to visit when it was still permitted to climb to the top of the largest temple/pyramid.
    Wonderful experience.

    It´s not only in that place. Also occurs other effects in the sun in Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Mayapan at least,but do not have the promotion that Chichen Itza has.

    To see this in person is stunning. I was there during Easter week and really was impressed. By the way, the Mexicans are very nice people. Many of the people in that area of Mexico are Mayan. If you are light skinned like me then go in the morning when the Sun is not so oppressive. It gets very hot in the afternoon so protect yourself with serious sunscreen.

    The inner pyramid built for 251-year seasonal tropical Venus as the return of Shem-Melchizedek in 362bc from the Shem-Ramis Venus 1868bc G.Dec 17 and tropical sun of 360bc when Shem died at 600. The enlarged outer pyramid of 800 AD is built for the return of Noah-Melchizedek's 235-year Semiramis (Dove in the arrows) Sagitarius Venus of 2021bc Dec 25 (G.Dec 8). This 800ad is Greek year 6000 of Adam and the count of 235 continues to 1975.

    It give you the feeling of awe, it seemed like every visitor had the sense of it.
    1.2 million vistors a year, the Mayans had a very structured civilization.
    All of the terrain and drive to it is jungle straight out of "Apocalypto".

    @tariztegui Very fascinating. I was trying to find something else while I stumbled upon this. I was looking for what might have been a Mayan or Aztec styled temple. It had serpent-like windows carved so that a number of illuminated serpents would appear on what looked like a hollow inside? Thanks alot if you respond to this.

    En realidad, los Mayas expresaron un poema de sabiduría en el descenso de Kukulcan durante el equinoccio de primavera y otoño. Pue, es un hecho que todas las culturas antiguas que se asentaron en México y en Anahuac, gozaron de un aúge cientifico en donde desarrollaron un complejo sistema de computo basado en 4 diferentes sistemas de numeración, combinandolos para alcanzar la perfección. Y así inventar el concepto de "ciencia-religión", lo que permitio su asombrosa magnificencia !

    @kyonsuzumiyakim History can be cruel sometimes. Still I have to stand in awe of a place like Chichen Itza. There is nothing to compare it to in my country, the USA. When I was there our guide who was half Mayan was very interested in the Mel Gibson movie because it was done in the Mayan language. So there must be some pride in their native language and culture. I think you are right about the Spanish influence in Mexico. The movie stars like Selma Hyak are more European looking.

I just watched a video by the Smithsonian which showed the actual build-up of the shadow in which all the serpent's 'humps' rose up gradually at the same time, from base to top of the rail. This video with the shadow gradually descending the staircase is bogus, if you watch the clouds don't change at all!
