Thank you so much. My dementia suffering mother has no idea of the abuse and blackmail she endures. The carers, my elder siblings, are on a mission to discredit me and programming Mother to say what is told when I call and visit. It's saddening

This is a very good video. My father was a victim of abuse and, living at a distance, I was unable to see it for myself before it escalated too far. Sharing the signs of abuse is now going to be a passion of mine.

I am a survivor of elder abuse.. I could not see what was going on because I am also a survivor of child abuse and domestic abuse. I fled my daughter almost 2 years ago before she completley wiped me out financially. You see about 11 years ago my sister abused my mom before mom passed away.. She virtually wiped my mother out financially and treated her horribly. It took me 6 months to get my mom away from my sister then I had a mental meltdown and my family took advantage of mental state but, again, I am a survivor not playing a victim. I played that victim role in much younger days. It just keeps one down.. I have a nice place to live now with my puppy. I am no longer depressed or in fear anymore. Although I was abused, I still have very minimal contact with my daughter. I don't know her anymore..She is cruel..She is an alcoholic and very aggressive Weird thing is, I don't miss her and never thought I would see the day when I would walk away from her but, my life is more important..I am a fighter!

Justice for disabled elders in America is a SICK GIGANTIC JOKE. I'm now 75+, had a disability all my adult life which caused me to be denied military service & live alone. I've reported elder crimes for 5+ years including multiple felonies by a confidence guy from Portland Oregon who admits in writing he's known I'm disabled, dealing with serious life threatening health issues, old & live alone ...yet he not only stripped me of whatever he could get his hands on while I was laying on an ER gurney... he then did all he could to trip me up in his revenge making my life a living hell because others demanded accountability & reprimanded him for his abuse, fraud and manipulation of a sick elder .....and authorities do NOTHING after being repeatedly told of this con-artist caused my Soc. Sec funds to be blocked, missing Soc. Sec under his control or direction, his Postal Fraud, his attempted extortion, his abuse, manipulation of a sick elder for his personal agenda, Class "C" grand larceny theft of my property, neglect, & scams. Far wonder, Oregon is now the worse state for any elder to even pass through even with documented proof, this guy laughs all the way to my bank and controls. Elders get no holidays nor coffee break from abuse, manipulations & fraud ...we live with it 24/7 ..365
JUSTICE DELAYED ...IS JUSTICE DENIED EVEN MORE SO FOR THE ELDERLY.... IT'S CRUEL TORTURE.
Please, don't just say how bad it is .....get ALL elders real help NOW ....REAL JUSTICE NOW !!!! ...before these con-artist kill us off. God will bless you for indicting these creeps as that IS the only way to halt elder exploitation.

And unfortunate thing is no one in my family members inckuding her parents believe me. She tells everyone I have memory issues. As you can see, my brain is still functioning properly. It's a shame that the person or persons (family in most cases) who are supposed to be your help and protective shield are the ones you need protection from. As a survivor of spousal emotional psychological verbal and physical abuse including being raped while sleeping so I woke up scared and startled I know you can be a victim and not know you are an abuse victim because of conditioning from childhood. It wasn't until a perforated eardrum and a subsequent black eye that I shared my problems and a woman said "Eileen, do you know you're an abused woman?". She then recommended a book I read "Men Who Hate Women and the Women that Love Them" by Dr. Susan Forward. I left him shortly after the wakeup that book gave me. Years later I wonder why I suffered out 7 long years of this. I think it must have been a feeling of helplessness he was drumming into me. When he sit my head open I got no healthcare for that head trauma. Even kids up in Maine weekend cottage who he showed off to giving boat rides said "He treats you like a dog.,"

I need help for my grandmother. She’s already been financially and psychologically abused by her POA daughter and son in law . Now they’ve abandoned her in adult home . She’s vulnerable, cannot speak or move but I see many sign of her being abused at the home. No one will help me because the POA has full control. I love her more than anything and am trying so hard to help but it’s a dangerous situation for her , I’m trying to speak for her and none of the systems are helpful because they keep going to the POA. I’m all my grandmother has and we are worried about being blocked from seeing each other . Need advice please.

When I finally did call the police to report the physical, emotional and financial abuse I suffered from my son and his girlfriend it was right after covid had started. Didn't want to put anybody in jail because of the contagion. I suppose if they had killed me they may have put them in jail.

I'm so sorry to hear about how the system let you down. Unfortunately, many of those suffering abuse need to tell their stories over and over before they get the help they need and deserve. I hope you are safe, and keep calling for help if you need it - that's what 911 is for.

I just found out that my mother was threatened by a debt collector on her own property and was told they would be back and break in her home ...I went to report this and the sheriff's office told me it was completely legal and they can say and do whatever they want even with no trespassing signs. She couldn't sleep or eat and she was so scared to tell me ...I want to do something and I went to said sheriff's office and they laughed at me and told me she needs to pay pay her bills nothing is free I almost got arrested ...what can do from here I want to file a complaint on that sheriff's office and the debt collector.....its been two weeks and I have been here with her and she still is very scared....where do I go for help 🙏 🙏

@@TheWrinkleunfortionately sometimes the system can also end up being so abusive and/or neglectful itself that abuse victims, given past experiences or those of others are very understandably afraid to call authorities. Calling 911 can help or it can make everything far worse depending on one's luck and situation, so it is no paneca. I am glad you acknowledge that it can be complicated. Yes, a hidden video camera can be problematic but also sometimes can be necessary and life saving as well!

I would get a lawyer if posible and also take this story to the media if you can, -also to any nearby activist groups that could help. Thay need to be held accountable! No one can do just whatever they want over debt. Your sheriff frankly needs to be arrested and bared from office permanently it sounds like.

Elder abuse can also occur by children that they adopted when their parents or parent died. There are many grandparents raising their grandchildren. My grandson is 15 now. I adopted him at six when my daughter died. He has demanded items that are beyond our financial ability. I don't want to see him go to a home. He throws things. He has hit me, he has threatened me and tells me he can't wait until I died. He refuses to help with anything, do any chores

Please help! 78yo diagnosed with CHP Systolic heart failure. Was put in hospice then he got better….. still on Hospice. He developed coughing and wheezing. The hospice nurse checked him and said his lungs doesn’t sound like there’s fluid in it. I suggest nebulizer and albuterol for wheezing and coughing. Hospice ok’d it. But the family keeps saying he’s having trouble breathing and gives him Morphine every 2 hours. Is this right??? I am one of his caregivers and I don’t think he needs morphine to be given to him that often. TIA
