Loved this video a lot, although I get very homesick. The crunch under your feet and the trickling water with the quiet relaxing music is enjoyable and makes me need a nap. Thank you for taking us along.😊❤
Love the Howgills and been several times to hike and wild camp. Carlingill Beck and its waterfall are well worth a visit on the other side of the fells. Did a vid about it. Feel free to check it out if you like. Cheers.
Thanks for the info. I do enjoy the Howgills but I must admit I've not discovered that waterfall, must findthime to explore, it looks interesting on the map. Cheers
Nigel, this brings back more memories. I walked the Dales High Way back in 2019, but took a 'rest' day to day hike the Howgills with Mark Reid and a group of hikers, starting at the bottom of Cautley Spout then up to the Calf and wandered about the top - it was sunshine, clear skies, and views for miles. The very next day I resumed my Dales High Way walk directly up and over the Howgills from behind Sedbergh, and it was near zero visibility with fog and rain. Quite the contrast within 24 hours. BTW, you once mentioned perhaps hiking in NZ - If you ever do visit, find a way to message me and I'll help you out in whatever ways I can.
Hi Ryk, your Howgills adventure certainly sounds like a blast and great to hear you’ve walked the High Way. At the moment my plans are to visit Aus in 2024 and NZ in 25. Interestingly, I did have a thought that I would reach out to you nearer the time, so thanks for the offer, really appreciated.
Great video, not been to the Howgills since last year when I did the Dales Highway. I have explored most of the area and actually absailed down Cautly spout (in summer),I need to get back up there, but getting to rapped up doing all the Ethels I the Peak District.
Hi Kevin, absailed the spout, wow that sounds awesome! Dales High Way is great and now I'm thinking of doing all the peaks of the Howgills having enjoyed this walk so much. I know the Peak District really well, practically all my teenage years were spent exploring the area, must get around to doing the Ethels. Thanks for sharing your endeavours! Cheers, Nigel
0:35 the crunch of the frost and those neat little tufts of Juncus! Heavenly.
Thanks for the watch and I do appreciate the comment.
The Howgills have definitely moved to the top of my list after this. Such amazing views. Thank you for a beautiful winter walk.
Glad you enjoyed the Howgills Catherine.
Such beautiful views, especially with the frost. Loved the wing mirror comment too, that made me laugh!
Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it!

Great hike out round the Howgills. Lovely round green hills there. Nice in the frost. Best wishes on the next.

Must have been a chilly walk but looks incredible on camera!
Certainly was🥶, thanks for watching.
