    I lived in Buenos Aires Argentina for nearly 10 years. Buenos Aires has something that will interest anyone you name it and Buenos Aires has it you will never get bored in Buenos Aires just walking around the different neighborhoods is a pleasure in itself and it is totally free.

    For any architecture buffs out there, the apartment complex shown is 'La Algodonera' - which was, as she mentioned, a former textile mill.
    Built around 1945, it was converted in 1998-2000 - helping revitalize the previously declining area.

      that’s dope. Do you know the main contractors in town?

    • @tenorly
      @tenorly ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@concretecat Hi. Some of the top builders in the city are Argencons, Criba, Creaurban, Caputo, Dycasa, Riva, Sudamericana, etc.
      Some of the top local developers are IRSA, Raghsa, Arupac, Sutton, Consultatio, GNV, Portland, TGLT, etc. (some major builders are also developers).
      La Algodonera itself was designed (in its redevelopment), and I believe also developed, by Dujovne-Hirsch.
      Hope that helps!

    HI there! I was born in Buenos Aires but have lived in the States most of my life. I have very nice memories of my childhood there and I find that the city and its architecture is beautiful and the climate can't be beat. Unfortunately, the economy and the politics there is horrendous!

    We are heading to Buenos Aires in November for a week. We are planning in staying at the Marriott as one of our group works for the chain and my wife has a bunch of points from business travel. I sure wish we were staying at your place. Great video. I have two imediate goals. Get a SIM card and exchanging money at the "Blue" rate. Can you get arrested for exchanging at the blue rate? Any suggestions?

    • @atypicaladventure
      @atypicaladventure  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! 😊 I´m sure you will have a fantastic time in BA.
      I used Google Fi when we were in BA, however for other countries we used prepaid-data-sim-card.fandom.com/wiki/ to look into different providers etc. I think I remember that Claro or Movistar are the main two providers and have stores in the different malls as well as the airport.
      For the Blue rate, we never used the cuevas("caves") to exchange currency. We used Western Union, it gives almost the same exchange rate, but in a more safer environment :) Almost like withdrawing money from a bank. Just make sure to bring your passport.

      Thank you for enjoying our videos! ❤ No, we do not speak a lot of Spanish. Nemanja has been learning a bit through Duolingo, but not more than that. I would say it is a bit more difficult than travelling around Europe for example, but its not an issue if you plan a bit more than usual. We use apps to translate menus at restaurants or to find certain sentences or questions. People in general are very patient, and are just happy for you to try speaking a little Spanish.

    I don't understand why tourists are recommended to take them for a walk to the cemetery. There are other places to visit like the Boca Juniors stadium. Caminito, San Telmo. There are art museums, natural sciences. The Planetarium etc. etc. They should also visit Tecnopolis or the Teatro Colón where they offer guided tours in English. I'm Alan from Buenos Aires.
