How lovely! The most beautiful tour of the animal barns--felt a bit teary, honestly. Thank you so much for bringing it to us, and for raising the beautiful animals to make the beautiful wool. I'm so grateful. See you next year! xoxo
Very nice tour of the festival, Jen! Thanks for taking us along, especially into the sheep barn! Holy guacamole! The size of the Columbias! They were all beautiful. And your accommodations tour was fun! I love the small, yet hip-town shops! PS - your combed top looks super squishy-lishous! Love it! Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for a wonderful recap of the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival! Your narration was so informative! I've been to Rhinebeck a few times, but I learned so much from you!
The teenager grooming her sheep before showing was priceless. Your reaction to her was one only a parent of a teenager could muster. This video was the best recap that I’ve seen…I’m sure that I’ve come close to seeing them all!😂😂😂. Your business is interesting to me and as I drive deeper into this world of fiber, I know that we will cross paths someday 💗💗
Thanks Sarah! Yes, miss Henny Penney was fun to talk with, I keep wanting to go back to check show results on the festival site but then get distracted. Thanks for your kind words about our video, look forward to talking with you soon!
Thanks Cathy! If I were going as a person, I would spend a lot of time in the breed barn and vote on the artwork. Sundays are better unless you have something you really need to buy and you are afraid might run out on Saturday.
Thank you for the tour. I didn't realize that you weren't familiar with Icelandics. That is my breed. Their fleeces are all over the map. My gal Elke was a walking rug (or pot scrubber, harshest fleece ever). Yet here granddaughter Rebekkah was a silky soft. We lost her very young but I did keep her fleece which I blended with her Mom who as almost as nice. I spin Lopi so do not separate the Tog and Thel. Thanks to you and Maja craft (Correcting Cat too) I could if I want to. So big news. there is a new flock of sheep not too far from us. About 70 I figure, and they are mostly Shetland. I haven't found the Shepherd yet but I will. BTW we used to do Rev War re-enacting iin Kingston. Big NY history there. Blessings and hugs.
Again and again - thank you so much for your videos and explanations! I wish I could come over and visit Rhinebeck, but it's one Ocean too far. The sheep running to you at the end brought tears to my eyes 😊 - so much love!
I love your thorough explanation of everything! I've never been to Rhinebeck so this cleared up a lot of stuff. I think it's the best Rhinebeck recap video I've seen. I love your Correcting Cat song, haha!
I really enjoyed your video, and so happy I found your site, since I got a Suzie wheel this year and needed “extras”. I wasn’t able to attend Rhinebeck, but perhaps next year. I will definitely look for you in person! I also enjoyed seeing the sheep, as I have not seen many varieties in person. 😊
Thanks for all the great information. I’ll book a room in Kingston for next year, it looks fun. I believe the CIA (culinary institute of America) is in that town, must make reservations ahead of time. We also took a drive out to Woodstock last year when we attended, which was very cool too ☮️
Great video! You need more staff! I hope you have some combed top left! I still think you should consider holding one of your fleeces back and entering it for judging. Just for curiosity....
Hi Jillaine - thanks! Yes, I am planning on getting some help next year. Interesting idea on entering the fleece in the show and sale, might consider it
Do you have any of that combed top left? I think I missed a color. I know you're having it prepped for spinning, but I did a felt sample today and it felts up nicely too if anyone asks!
Hi Margo - thanks! I was actually wondering about how it felted up. So yes, I have all 5 colors still in the shop, here is a link to the page for the combed top: softshetlandwool.com/collections/combed-top
Merci 💗🐑🐏💗

Hi Cary! Thank you so much, hope all is well

Awww! Thanks for the nice comment! Love the sheep barn!
Thanks very much for this tour. It was fun meeting you both at your Rhinebeck booth 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks! It was nice meeting you too!
Thank you Jen for a great visit with you to Rhinebeck. It is always fun to tag along, especially when we can’t make it in person.
Hi Margo! So glad you enjoyed the video!
Great journey to Rhinebeck, lovely products and sounds like you enjoyed the customers and the festival
Thanks! We had a wonderful weekend!

Hi Jacki - interesting that there is so much variation even with Icelandics!
Thank you for a positive Rhinebeck video experience. I didn't get to go this year. I was happy for your focus on sheep & fleece.
I am so glad you enjoyed the video, hope to see you there next year?

Thanks so much, that is really nice to hear. And yes, Trixie is a very clever cat isn't she?

You know that cat is probably correcting you on the type of food you put in the bowl.
Haha she is kind of bossy.
